9 Ball road player 1970s-90’s

tough to remember but sitting near joey spaeth and norm hitchcock at the stardust i remember them talking about a jim buss player. he must of walked by or something. saying he was real tough from the midwest.
that had to of a real been a compliment from them, as no one in the midwest was better than either of them.
Joey nor Norm were best in the midwest. Heck Joey or Norm would have their hands full with Artie Clemens.

Southwest cues - reasons for their popularity

Supply and Demand ='s crazy prices, and if person is lucky to get one it had to be GRAIL CUE.

IMHO a Banger with a SouthWest will not like magic, turn into the next great player like SVD.

Another big question is how many TOP WORK CLASS PRO-PLAYERS are using a SouthWest, I suspect few as Lauri don't have to give cue to pros to promote the product.

She has a 15 YEAR PLUS WAIT LIST, and if someone bugs out, 10 people plus are inline behind the person. JMHO
More like 20 years. I placed the order in 2006. I recently got them.

"He would make money doing studio work and that took him on some travels as well. His most favorite player of the times was Buddy Hall. They never matched up because neither of them wanted to lose to the other. They respected each other’s game too much to sour it."

I don't know if you're saying because they were friends, cause Buddy played everyone. I'll have to look through the Rifleman and see if it mentions Jim.

Radial joint protectors

I am looking to buy (if there are still some out there), or have someone make, a few sets of aluminum joint caps. They are identical to the plastic ones that Jocoby sells...just metal. I checked with a couple of my local machine shops, and they are not willing to make them. Image is attached for reference.
