Class Move by Tyler Styer in Iowa, 10 Ball Showdown , against Justin Bergman

I think the problem with this rule in particular is - you don't really have obvious shots when dealing with most amateurs. So if it's a call shot game, all specialty shots should be called. The professional player IS different. Their intentions are more discernable. When amateurs and professionals play by the same rules, these sorts of things are going to happen.

Ever Shaved Your ....

Cloth? I probably need to redo my table that's covered in Simonis 760, but just haven't gotten around to it. I noticed the cloth on the rails had a lot of pilling, and there was some on the bed too. For whatever reason, I never considered shaving the cloth until my daughter was using this fabric shaver on one of her sweatshirts. That cheap little thing really did the job. All the pills are gone. May have extended the life of the cloth a bit too.

Just a cheap one like you find on Amazon does the job. Probably old news to almost everyone but me. It's sort of crazy how little things sneak by me from time to time.

Ever had an obvious pool related nugget escape you for years?

Here’s something to think about….

Intentional fouls under this rule set are ruled as “loss of frame”. Tyler should have lost the rack when he did that. I questioned the refs on their decision after the match.
Good that you talked to them. The foul call was incorrect given the wording of the rule. They SHOULD change it because the plain meaning of the rule means you don’t HAVE to call any shot unless asked by opponent or ref, but you SHOULD. I have only played the league format, but UP stresses the strict rule on intentional fouls and touching moving balls. Agree with those rules or not, UP stresses them. I can see how the ref might forget the application of the rule in that spot, but you are right, it should have been loss of game for Tyler.

Great playing BTW.

John Schmidt runs 820

If Filler even cared he'd run 1500.
Anybody who watched him playing all the games against the Ghost from Roy's Basement knows it.
I don't know it. Not missing is only 1 part of this. These numbers are getting so high, that assuming someone else can do it, other than those actually in the arena running the balls, is totally pointless. These numbers are mind blowing to me. Until proven otherwise, there are only 2 guys on the planet that can do it.

Best All-Around Production Cue for ~$1000 (Value, Playability, Durability, Support)?

Setting aside fancy custom builds and expensive limited production cues, what’s the best production cue overall if you want the whole package: great value, solid playability, consistent quality, long-term durability, a design that doesn’t look too crazy, easy maintenance, good manufacturer support, and it has factory-made accessories like extensions?

Looking to spend around $1000, shaft included. Would love to hear from people who’ve owned or played with cues in this range for a while, not just what hits nice out of the box, but what holds up over years of use. You can use below template if you would like, or just shoot your comment.

I don’t know what you mean by “production cue.” What are the characteristics you are looking for that would qualify it as a production cue? Do you mean “high volume, catalog cues?”

Alternative to Brunswick Superspeed cushions

You mean Artemis Intercontinental No.66?
Yes.
I read they are essentially K55 although very slightly different.
Not essentially, they are a K55 profile.

Also they are almost twice the cost comparing to SuperSpeeds and some say they bounce more so the game is different than intended.
Not true. The selling point is the quality of the rubber is supposed to be superior so you are paying for longevity. That being said, my mechanic has told me he's seen dried out Artemis after 10 years of service.

Best All-Around Production Cue for ~$1000 (Value, Playability, Durability, Support)?

Not the ones I have had. can't dent 'em. can't break 'em. well finished. If a Cuetec falls on to a chair the chair gets hurt :-) Millions $$$$ made with Cuetec cues. Probably the most money making cue out there. That should be all you need to know.

Their Resale value is probably not that good though. Mezz cues have an excellent resale value. I still believe that Mezz is far higher quality.

Best All-Around Production Cue for ~$1000 (Value, Playability, Durability, Support)?

Here is a very nice Mcdermott (G520), with the latest 3rd Gen Carbon Fiber Defy shaft, for under $1k.

Love the Bocote wood in that cue, and I heard that the 3rd Gen Defy is super smooth.

Mcdermott has excellent customer support.

Alternative to Brunswick Superspeed cushions

Hi, I’m going to buy a Gold Crown III that has been in a pool hall for many years.

Problem is there is no availability in Brunswick Superspeed cushions here in Greece.

Do you know where I could purchase them from?
Or maybe an equal alternative in terms of play quality.
Why don't you purchase SuperSpeeds online and have them shipped to Greece? Less expensive than buying Artemis.

Ultimate Pool USA 2026 Iowa

When you drilled that slightly off angled long 6 ball at 5-5 to take the lead, I thought you had him (Bergman). You were staying down on your shots nicely, and hitting center pocket when I watched you. Taking one of the toughest outs in the game to the wire, speaks volumes about your ability.
You are a credit to the forum.

I started celebrating in my head like a dummy. Thanks for watching!
Does anyone know what the payouts are for these events?
I believe first place was $12k.
