Part 2

Your goal should be to get the stick on the line & then have your body in a manner/position that will "allow" you to move the stick in a straight line. NO ONE can tell you to do XYZ to get THAT to happen.

If you set your body per xyz & that is not correct to allow the above, then you will always be fighting that faulty body position.

The way to do it right is to "focus" in the straight movement of the stick & "feel" hoe your body "needs" to be to "allow" it.

I ran into some eye issues & tip that was given to me is to pick the line with your eyes naturally on that line & get down for the shot while looking ONLY at the object ball until in position. IT helped but goes against what I used for many decades.

I hope something here 'fits' you & helps.

At all costs stay away from the Set, Pause, Finish(SPF) Family of instructors led by RandyG & Scott Lee. Tor Lowery has some fairly good stuff on DVD & YOUTUBE.

I am 65 yrs. old & have been playing since I was 13. I have finished to 2nd. for MVP in every league that I played(which at time was 5 /week) to the guy who only qualified while I Played EVERY week. I also the award for Most Run Outs every time.

In that instructors forum, I would ONLY listen to Fran Crimi. She was a Top 10 Professional Player. Others are as CJ Wiley called them, Clowns. Matt Shermann goes against that as he is not in Lock Step with them.

As to the PSR, I basically use non & never have. Here is the ONE MOST IMPORTANT thing to focus on... move the stick "straight" on "every" plane. Do not even think about your elbow & the pendulum BS. Move the stick as straight as you can along the long axis of the "straight" stick. Your body will naturally adapt to what it must do to reach that goal of your "focus".

Forget Dr. Dave's stuff. There is "some" good info there but YOU will not be able to tell the real gold from the fools gold.
I don’t run the one pocket tournaments at Bogies, but help coordinate and get the message out to players. Regarding your tournament, I would suggest 9 ball. Seniors are much more familiar with 9 ball than ten ball and the better player has a big advantage in ten ball. You want the tournament to be as competitive as possible. There are some very good players 65 and over and you may want some kind of restrictions on known pros, games on the wire or something, or restrict the tournament to players with a Fargo rating under a certain number. Fargo rating is a pretty good guideline . Have it in a player friendly room with enough tables they are willing to give up for three days and added money helps. Keep the entry fee low to get enough players. Anything else I can do to help, let me know. John
Hello,
I was referred to you by someone on the AZ Site. I was seeking input on a 65 years old and over big table event we would like to have at our pool hall in Peoria,Il. Was thinking either a 9 or 10 ball tournament over 3 days, no jump cues. Would most likely cap at 64 players, what do you think would bring the most players? Thanks for your time.
The book...I love it, so much info. Some of it I knew but there is much info in this publication that I will need to go over it again;)

I hope things are good, finally summer here, still in the low 40's in the am.

The Billiard Encyclopedia is so cool. I am being very careful with it(incase you want it back). This book should be seen and read several times. Thanks Paul.

I want to make you a snooker cue to compliment your pool cue but I am slow. Maybe I can start on it when the snow flies.

I posted this via PM but your over topped. Must be great to be in demand
Mike, Thank You Very Much. You left my last post. Did you do that intentionally? It sort of seem out place now. If you like, I can wipe it & replace it with a Thank You to You.
Mike,

Have you looked at Cookies recent posts going back to when DTL referred to me a Child Molester? You acted quickly then. Please do so again? Also, just for your info. Low500 has wiped out 5 of his last 10 posts including the OP of a thread that he opened. I do not want to make you regret allowing me back, but those 2 have come after me with crap Including this Vile Disgusting Stuff from Cookie. Please give it some significant time to settle down before thinking that you may have made a mistake. Also, are you aware that my HMLT is in the off position. I can not post any pics as has been requested by a few of the guys. Thanks in Advance, Rick
Hi Dean,

Mark from Buffalo that purchased the Tony Guerra Mystery Cue from you last year.

I'm curious as to if you know what tips were on those shafts, or did you replace them.

I ask because I shoot really well and have no issues controlling the cue in any manner with the original shafts. However I have since purchased a really nice Guerra Hickory Burl cue with 2 original Guerra shafts and 2 Jacoby's and I absolutely hate the tips, constantly miscuing and on draw shots the cue flies off the table.

I have an email into Tony to ask him opinion but I figured I'd ask you as you said you really liked the way that cue hit, just wondering on the tips.

BTW I heard you're giving pool up. That's hard to imagine pal. Hopefully whatever has you in a slump works itself out and you get the itch again.

Hope you're doing well.

Respectfully,

Mark
Hi, I was looking to buy an Abe Rich cue and was told you were the guy to talk too. I have a price range of around 300 to 400 dollars. Let me know if you have anything. If not, no big deal.
you could send pics of the Meucci to dxchad@yahoo.com and I could pass it along to the friend I am selling the McDermott Tourney Cue
were you interested in some kind of trade I don't remember inquiring about any Meucci cues
