You can't get a FANCY fine custom cue for that money, but YES, you CAN get an excellent cue. The words custom and fine do not apply exclusively to expensive cues. IMO what makes a cue fine is the quality of the hit, the feel of the cue in your hand, the quality of the materials and the quality of the workmanship. A simple cue having no veneers or points, just basic rings, a finished wood handle, a solid maple shaft and a quality tip can be a very fine cue and very reasonably priced. Cost is reduced by eliminating the frills and vanity features, not by skimping on the quality of the materials and craftmanship. If you can't afford the frills and vanity features, forget about them and go for the quality hit. If the cue doesn't hit well and feel right, the frills and vanity features don't count for anything! You are welcome to contact me at bwdcues@aol.com to continue the commercial aspects of this discussion that don't belong in this forum (as I understand the rules).

thanks for the rep. as with any league, how your lo runs it has a lot to do with your overall experience and opinion of the league itself.
our lo does not require you to play on a team to play in masters. we have several master players that have never played on a regular apa team.
Have you noticed that almost no one ever responds to ugotda7? Check it out. It's like we're the only ones that ever respond to him. Maybe we should follow their lead? I think I'm going to.
I have the Round 1 Race to 21 between SVB and The Lion, 3 discs recorded at
2008 Derby Classic. Would like to Trade for similar match between SVB & Bustamante
I was wondeing if you have any interest in purchasing rare high end cues or know someone who would be interested? I have a barry szamboti and a black boar and maybe selling a gus szamboti.
I have been building cues in the area since the 90's. I see that you are located near my shop ( about a half hour) If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. Looks like you are a newbie to the craft of cue making. I also have equiptment for sale as well as I'm always looking to buy. I also buy, trade and sell cues of all kinds so if you have any please let me know. The super Billiards Expo is coming up in a week, it is for cue makers from all over the world, you should go. I buy most of my supplies there to last me the next year. Great prices, great product, and a great way to meet other cue makers who have been doing this for decades.
thanks for the rep Trig.... I"m assuming that guy got banned and good :)

Hope all is well, RJ
Joe - ironically, I logged in the same day you posted this message. I think my last login was perhaps a week ago or longer. Been busy as ever so not much time to check in here. I just posted a reply in the mechanics forum and noticed your message. Usually I have to apologize for my delay in replying but got lucky I logged in today!

There are soooo many duplicate threads on here, and I am as guilty as anyone. I wonder if there is a way to have a pop-up warning when someone attempts to start a new thread telling them to please research their topic with the search function and post on a prior thread if possible. That's how it works in hospitals.... a doctor orders a gallbladder test and the popup warns them to keep the patient prepped for the exam. Without that, I guess the next best way to help someone who is researching a topic is to sort the threads by their rating instead of date. I love AZ, it's a great tool. Just trying to have positive input. Thanks for all you do.
Hey, Robin. I haven't seen much from you lately on the mechanic's forum. I posted a couple questions that I had hoped to get some input from some of you senior guys, but heard nothing. Hope all is well with you. I sent a similar message to Jay (the Felt Wright), as he hasn't been on there much either.

Hey, Jay. You haven't been on the mechanic's forum lately. I posted three or four questions that I had hoped to get a response from some of you senior guys, but heard nothing. Hope all is well with you.
