At the joint?? G-10 pin definitely softens the feel of the hit... But I think the taper also effects that

I bought 2 extended length underwater-wood shafts too-noting is stiffer. I have some other underwater woods maple that is hard as aluminum and was told to use blk g-10 to preserve the hit

I did talk to Jim White about my Mottey for Refinish-100, and 150 for the original soft brown leather.
