mosconi cup2009

Hoping to find some answers on the cost of Mosconi Cup tickets anyone out there have a clue as to how much they run and if you have to pay for every single day or if they have passes for all three days.Trying to plan to be there and would love to hear from anyone who has seen this event live.Should be some great matches. As far as my vote for the best squad it would have to be Nevel,Strickland,SVB,Morris, and John Schmidt.

and the winners are:

Niels Feijen
Nick van den Berg
Ralf Souquet
Tony Drago
(any other player to fill the team like: chamat, immonen, majid, ect. ect.)

Wrong side, at least according to the title of the thread. ;)

But thanks for sharing! :)

Well matchroom has controlled part of who's on our team for quite some time, which hardly seems fair by having contracts with earl, johnny & rodney. So unless those have expired there are only two spots to fill just like the last 5 or 6 years.

I did not know Matchroom Sports had a contract with Earl, Johnny, and Rodney, other than they have to sign an agreement to allow their likeness to be filmed.

I do think most entities make the players sign an agreement beforehand if they are going to be filmed and broadcast on TV at a later time.

Johnny Archer

(Davis may be good, but he is a pain to watch), and I think SVB may have a communication problem in the team environment.

I think SVB communicates plenty well enough with his team. He's helped Rodney with his breaking technique. If it was water polo then that would be a whole different ball of wax. Try again.

Sir, I've disagreed with some of your other posts in the past, but THIS one takes the cake! :p

I think if USA wants to win, we should give a spot to Dennis Hatch. He could probably play Jeremy and Stevie even, and have a great shot at winning. (Also, you wouldn't have to worry about any shot clock violations with Dennis). :D

This post is made mostly in jest, I read your apology post, and a few after that, and if you continue the trend of your last few posts, you could be a great contributer to the forum. I'm interested to see how things unfold.

Regards,
Michael

To me, it's still:

Johnny
Corey
SVB
Hatch
Stevie

And I still vote for Incardona to coach. Don't know why, but I think he would make an excellent coach.

How many are allowed on Team USA? Is it five players and one captain?

I'm just curious, but can a captain also be a player?

I'm not sure. I just picked who would be an asset to the team. There are more that would suffice, and these players just came to mind and I put them down. I had to stop somewhere.

I think anybody that's on the U.S. is very capable of winning. It would be nice to see some different players.

How would anybody feel if the teams on both sides had to have different players each year?

I think it's time for Earl to be the coach, just try it out I think it would be good for the team.

The players should be as follows: SVB, John Schmidt, Mike Davis, Johnny Archer, and of course Rodney Morris...thats a winner

ESPN Classic showed a previous Mosconi Cup this morning, and I was just about to make a thread like this...

My picks for the 2009 USA team would be:

SVB
Hatch
Archer
Deuel
Jeremy Jones

Based on who's playing the best right now:
Johnny, Rodney, Shane, Schmitty and Stevie Moore. Dennis Hatch is a wild card. I too wish there were six. A little different chemistry might be a good thing for Team USA.

Hatch is a beast when he is playing in any tourny! can you imagine the emotion that would pour out of him in the fight for his country format!! i for 1 think he has the highest "gear" if he is running good. and i think the usa needs that kind of boost!

hillbilly

this guy is the nuts... he plays so well even when he is down.. a real wild card for this list... but man he can swing it... my 5 archer, williams, double jj because he is clutch, morris, and hillbilly... just my 2 cents...

We are now mid way between last year and the next Mosconi Cup. This thread has had a revival of interest. So we now have a situation where the five most popular picks are
1) Shane van Boening (in 21 team selections)
2) Johnny Archer (18)
3) Corey Dueul (17)
4) Rodney Morris (14)
5) Dennis Hatch (14)

Outside the team
Steve Moore (13)
John Schmidt Gabe Owen Mike Davis (all on 9)
Earl (5)
plus another 12 nominations with 3 or less

Only Poolwiz99 matched with the first five names
