Shannon Dalton and Joey A's commentary is the best. Shannon has an aquitiy of insite and Joey has some Q smarts and his audio voice is very pleasing to listen to. Their combination is very pleasing to watch and view. Thanks for the expert commentary.

Joey and Nick Varner seem to be the most wanted and appreciated commentators at the event, there is a lot to learn from each of them and it's great to have them in the booth at any time watching any game.

Jeremy Jones

Sorry,
I got the wrong commentator. It was Jeremy not Shannon. But the commentary was definitely pro quality and not amature guessing like it is in the women's tour. I was impressed with what Jeremy said Mika or Warren was going to do with a kick shot and the side of the object ball was going to be hit and the Q ball position which was about 95 % correct every shot. I learned a lot by watching this and I hope I can execute a little better at my next tourney. CTE is getting better and now all I need is some skill.

I thought they were excellent too.

Joey did a great job no matter who was in the booth with him. Loved hillbilly's tips...and JJ? JJ a mind reader! Kudos to Nick Varner as well...enjoyed it all. Many thanks to all who put on the show.

great commentary!

I caught at least some part of most of the matches this week and the commentary was outstanding. JoeyA was the primary commentator and did a super job. Jeremy Jones, Nick Varner, Charlie Bryant, and of course Jay Helfert were great too. I thought that it was fantastic that JoeyA got one of the Filipinos in the booth, Roberto Gomez I believe, for their unique perspective. Bill Incardona put in an appearance early in the week, giving his usual outstanding performance.

I have to give a shout out to a first timer in the booth, Neil Fujiwara.(Fuji-Whopper) Neil you did a very creditable job for your first time in the booth and I look forward to hearing from you more in the future both on the table and in the booth. You played well against top competition and your time in the booth with Nick Varner was very entertaining and enlightening!

Cris dela Garza did her usual fine job in the booth and also put in a lot of time doing interviews. Seems we have a lot of talent on this forum and not just on the pool tables!

I know I'm forgetting a few more commentators. The voices behind the mikes were outstanding all through the events and were a huge part of making the live stream successful. A very sincere thanks to all of them and the other ladies doing the interviews that I didn't name.

Joey A. did a GREAT JOB!!!!!!

Thanks to a very talented man!!!!
(He must of studied my commentating on some of the matches at the Western BCA Regionals :D)
Just teasing Joey
Learned quite a bit from your outstanding performance in the booth.:)

I had the pleasure of sharing a room with Joey in Galveston.

I knew that he would do a good job but his performance exceeded my expectations.

He worked hard at researching his matches. But what clinched it for him was Jim Wych's departure. Jim was engaged to cover TV matches but as these never came to pass then he was never needed.

Joey stepped up and took command. He selected his box partners and he picked them wisely - from old hands Billy Incardona and Jay Helfert to newcomers like Roberto Gomez and Neil Fujiwara. All added an extra dimension to the matches.

Well done my friend. Next stop the networks!

what, did the whole TV deal fall thru?

JoeyA did a great job. I liked him better than his partners but Nick was a close second. Great team Joey and Nick.

The DEVIL pocket will be talked about for years to come.

I don't know if he thought there was anything physically wrong with the pocket or just bad luck associated with it but Francisco blatantly set up for a harder shot several times to dodge the devil pocket. After it cost him a game he wanted no part of it for a critical shot.

Next stop the networks!

I am officially casting my vote to replace Mitch Laurence, and/or Allen Hopkins with JoeyA!

Very refreshing to hear commentary from someone who is both articulate, and has great knowledge of the game.

I enjoyed Joey's work this week, and I was impressed with JJ in the booth also.

I thought Joey did a good job inviting players (and old-has-been-guys like Jay) into the booth, that made it more fun.

If JoeyA, Billy Incardona, Danny D, Ken Schuman, Jay Helfert and JJ would do "blocks" of commentating during a big TAR-match race to 100, that would be the nuts. Never a boring moment. These guys have great voices, and certainly knows what they are talking about.

Bravo!! Joey A

:bow-down::clapping:
Great broadcast voice. Soothing timbre, good pacing. Timely 'tosses' to co-hosts eliciting pro opinions of situational strategy and shot selection rationale (JJ and NV in particular). Made for a thoroughly enjoyable listening experience.

Thank you for your fine work.

Personally, I appreciate the 'informed reporter/questioner' approach vs a 'ring announcer/falsetto super-hype' delivery. Most stream listeners were already knowledgeable fans and didn't need to be 'sold'. Joey's delivery respected that fact.

I hope to hear you again in the future.

BRAVO!! JOEY A

Thanks to your wife and family for sharing.

PS: Does AFTRA get dues from this gig?

Edit: Hillbilly was fun.

Joey did a fantastic job. That's not easy, sitting there with Nick Varner or Jeremy Jones, etc, and managing NOT to sound like Jim Wych. :-)

Joey "from the internet pool forums" is my new hero.

TAP tap tap...

I bet that there was a degree or two difference in one of the facings, or the application of one or both that was off on that pocket..... but you Could tell the players that had a preconcieved perception of it from the ones that didn't, and that was the main difference from my 'railside' view.
I'd go insane if I played on that table all the time!!!

AND..................... MAN was the commentating GREAT!! Gomez's fun loving spirit was infectious, and made me keep smilin'. Nick and Billy both have a subtle humor also that really makes for more enjoyable listening. I hope this catches on, and is financially rewarding for both the sponsors, as well as the commentators..... cuz it sure was nice for the fans!!!!! :grin-square:
