This reads like a heartfelt apology.

Hey, she publicly put it out there - BIG time. She allegedly has treated some women players very poorly (and I accept the "testimony" as having merit), so IMO she was ripe for some public feedback. Forum feedback will always offer up a wide range, some of which will surely be overly harsh.

If you go public, F'g deal with this fact! Seems Mary is. And if in fact her apology is heartfelt, her future actions will prove as much. Even though there may have been some excessive forum force applied, and lots of fun at Mary's expense, I say:

personally i dont do it...but.
people that do, do it, and do it well usually end up pretty successfull in life.
Most famous people got famous by promoting themselves, When they were nobodys they carried themselve like they were sombody, and self promoted untill the right people take notice and you end up where you want to be.....its called HUSTLE, some people are gifted with it, some wish they could have it, some dont understand it, some dispise it.

The people who know me in California treat me decent, it's the people who haven't gotten to know me. Besides, I know that I'm abrasive, I accept it, I'm not in so much need of attention that I'm going to go out of my way to try and change.

I have a beautiful wife and daughter, a few close friends, and a few aquaintances that I occasionally meet up with. I have a decent job, make enough money to allow my wife to be a stay at home mom. It may not give me enough extra to play the amount of pool I'd like, but priorities have to be in order.

I have analyzed it, and you know what it is? The same exact thing that has pissed me off about this situation. One or two people running their mouths and other people jumping on the band wagon without taking the time to find out for themselves.

I am not defending Mary, if she's acted the way that some of these people have said, then to an extent she did bring on some of this.

In my experience with her, she has not. I can't defend how well she plays, because I don't know. I haven't seen her play in over three years and she had just started taking it seriously when I did.

Since I have made a couple of posts on this thread - I would like to respond to this.

I am hardly ever on the forums so I don't know who you are talking about when you said there are PLENTY of other girls that do this. Would you mind providing a link to the threads? No matter how harmless...??? This is just out of pure curiousity on my behalf. :)

I could care less how much attention is taken away from me because I don't get much to begin with, and that does not bother me in the least. What I did not like - was some of the posts that were made by Miss Avina about women pool players as a whole. I honestly don't think it's about attention being taken away from anyone, but that's just my opinion. I put in my dues to become the player I am today, and I didn't do it by belittling anyone in the process.

I love to see new females trying to come up in the pool world. It is actually very refreshing to see new faces instead of the same old same old all the time.

Here is an awesome quote by Charles de Montesquieu that some folks should live by:

If it is heartfelt and genuine, why post here? Why not on TAR Challenge Thread?

Why won't she say something like:

"Look I am phony, I don't beat guys in pool, no I don't break 80's in snooker with only 6 red... And really, I don't have backers. Those were couple of guys I was flirting at the time who offered to pay my entries to a tourney or table time.... I am really sorry and I have learn a valuable lesson".

Hell, she should start a whole new thread to apologize.
