Hi everyone!
I wanted to share with you all a video of me playing the 10 ball ghost. I played a "light version of the ghost" which means that I spread the balls 1-10 randomly on the table and tried to run them out in numerical order (no breaking) My aim was to train on running out and keeping focus as preparation for tournaments. I filmed it in my billiards academy in Germany. The entire video is around 23 minutes long-so I had to split it in two parts and I ran it a little faster during spreading the balls... I don't want to bore anyone...
I appriciate any comments...
Have a nice day!!!

WOW, that was nice. Maybe I can help a little. Fine tune a few things.

1. No Process. You shot every shot a little different.
2. Punch Stroke/Jab Stroke. After every shot your back hand was in a different position. Punching the cue ball could lead to more serious problems.

I hope Scott & Steve chime in here. I would respect what they see.....SPF=randyg

Hi Randy!
Thanks for your constructive criticism! I appreciate that!!!!!!!!

So I reviewed my clips to look at my finish position of my backhand and I recognized that it is true what you said. My "home position" varies from "under my right chest" to "right at the nipple of my right chest"
Thanks for sharing this info with me! I will work on this!!!

The other thing you mentioned was:

"No Process. You shot every shot a little different".

Do you mean I sight every shot different, or I align it differently, or something else? Would you please clear this up for me?! -so I can work on this...

...and what do you mean by: no process? I just don't know the meaning of the word "process"

Thanks for your answer!!!

Randy,
Very nice of you to offer your insight! I enjoyed reading your comments.

It would be great if we could all post a video of ourselves and pay you a fee to critique us. The only problems I could foresee with that idea would be that guys like....well, I don't want to name names, but I can think of a few of the fellas here that would sandbag it to lure some "customers" later.
IF you get my drift!

Hi Terry

I had a long private e-mail talk with UBC. He's now got some great ideas on improving.

We do this alot. Try to keep the answers private.

My private e-mail is:

Talk to me if I can help.

Happy Holidays....SPF=randyg

I think you did just fine. You play very well.
My only comment would be if you could get the camera a little higher the viewing angle would be better.
Are you anywhere near Denver? I think you and i would be a great match.

Did anyone ever tell you that you kinda look like Doogey Howser ??

Back on topic,, You shoot strong, It was entertaining....

You are quite obviously a skilled player, so any comments I share are relative to that. You need very little help, but I see a couple of small things you could do to tighten up your game even more. You have much to be proud of.

As Randy mentioned, you could develop a little more consistency as 1) you evaluate the upcoming shot (position zone) and 2) set-up over the cueball.

You tend to walk around the table to see where to fall on the next ball (which side of the shot line). This is good, but you don't do it as often as you need to. On a few shots, you left position to chance & ended up to straight causing you to either force the CB around or flirt with bumping a ball.

Your natural rythym is set, pause, stroke, pause, stroke, pause, shoot. Try to do this everytime. Also, watch your hand on the final stroke. You pick it up occasionally on the backstroke, which can lead to inconsistency. Your practice strokes are much more level & smooth (you punch the ball a few times).

Did you notice that on the middle racks of part 2 that you ended up on the rail a few times? Those resulted from excessive inside english. You seem to enjoy loading up the inside english. Try to tame that a little. :)

Anyway, you really play well. You were hitting dead center pocket, so you don't need very much tweaking.

Nice shooting, and very nice room set up you have there. What is the lighting situation? Maybe it's just the camera angle, but I can see a good portion of the ceiling but no table light. Obviously the table is well lit, I just couldn't quite see where it was coming from. Is the table light just outside the camera frame?

Thanks for all the comments I got!
very special thanx to Randy!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You can always learn and work on different aspects of your game-that's what I what I always did. I will work on the tips that you all gave me and will see what works for me...Some things like a "shooting routine and "same finish position" will certainly increase my level in the future.

@ measur man: I will position the camera next time a little higher.
I live in Germany-so no match between us in the next time...:)

@skillzelte: who is Doogey Howser ?

@mosconiac: thanks for your tips concerning my shooting rythm and my finish position- i will work on this and will try not to overuse inside english :)

@dogsplayingpool: table light is just outside the camera vision. I have 4 lights in the ceiling-perfect light-just no classic table light...

Thanks for all the other nice compliments!!!!

You already play well. After the above recommendations, test yourself a little with setups that need a little work to run out. Balls on rails, small clusters, limited pockets. You have to learn to maneuver around things also.

Very Nice Shooting!

But i do have a question....

What are you doing when you hold up two fingers?

I believe the "peace" sign is a very simple & effective way to judge the CB path related to the 30 degree rule.

Or it could be that we would get accused of just that because we play so bad!

I appriciate any comments...

To the original poster;
I am not one to give playing advice, but I think the biggest improvement you would see is making your table tougher. You should tighten the pockets. You are playing great on the video, but this does not carry over to how you might handle a ball hanging because you let it slide 1/4" off rail and it will not fall.
