If you found a Wheat cue and it played better than any cue you ever had...

Would you buy a Wheat cue if it played better than any other cue you could afford?

Not enough parameters. The answer is "no", I would not purchase no matter how well it played but not for the answer that you gave of disliking him. Every cue in the world hits differently. A cheaply built cue may hit great and a well built cue may hit horribly. The difference is that the well built cue will last for years and the cheaply built cue won't last long. The reason for buying the well built cue is for the longevity so that every time you use it you are building your ability instead of just adapting to a cue you haven't had long. Why would I want to waste my time adapting to a cue I'm pretty sure will fall apart before long.

Can we get a recap on what makes Eddie Wheat so terrible? I missed that particular bit of drama.
 
As a matter of principle, if I did not like a company because of personal reasons, I would not buy any of their products, even if it was a great product.

Not an expert but super glue holds stuff onto other stuff pretty well doesn't it? :)

What I saw in that thread is basically Eddie went a while with an ok reputation but later started failing to meet his end on a few deals.

I'm not much of a cue guy but if that's the worst he did I'd probably buy it anyway if I really loved it. If he does something worse and seems like a real a-hole I may pass it up. It's still the indian not the arrow.

Start a poll and ask how many Cue makers use super Glue as the adhesive to put thier ferrules on, that should answer your question.:)

I don't know, it could be one of many, Wood Glue, Two Part Epoxy, but Super Glue never, dries too hard with no flexibility and it has no working time. :)

You're too slow.
The trick is you spit on the tenon first.

Live threading and titebond glue or epoxy work for me.
