Challenge to mike sigel

Last two is not a huge spot. In a race to 50 it would be hard pressed to be a 5 game swing. So Earl vs Shane with 5 on the wire going to 50? Meh, not sure about that being a good bet on Earl's end.

Earl has the talent, but in a long set against Shane you are going to have some packages run and every mistake is going to cost you and that stuff will add up and make it very hard for Earl to stay focused on what he actually needs to do to compete on even terms with Shane.

Earl has the talent and skill to play Shane, I am not sure he has the mental control anymore to fade the swings and do what he would need to do for the long haul.

Not sure how Shane got into this thread about Sigel and Strickland. Must be some of Mar's doing!
Anyway, I think Earl shocked the pool world when he won last week in Florida. Talk about totally unexpected! That is undoubtedly the biggest shocker of the year, and maybe the decade. Remember Earl just lost to 18 year old Jesse Engel at the Open two weeks ago. And was still playing what one could call "average" (for a top pro) pool at that event.

With that huge win for Earl, all of a sudden he has regained his confidence, and maybe his game. Is he ready for Shane again, I'm not so sure. I am sure he would like another crack at him, Earl is a proud man! I suspect if they do play, it will be a lot closer this time. But can Earl keep his cool in the face of top flight competition game after game, and hour after hour. That remains to be seen. All that said, Shane is still the heavy favorite here if they do play, based on his overall performances the last 3-4 years. And not just one big win.

Shane has the Martian in his corner ready, willing and able to put him in action anytime and anywhere. Can Michael G. do the same for Earl. We will see, on the next episode of "How The Pool World Turns."

I wasn't going to say what I've been thinking but you burst the bubble now. I too would like to see this thread get back to Earl/Mikw S. I believe it would a very good match to watch and about even if Earl can play again like he did at the Seminole tournament. I think Earl's camp and fans are getting a little carried away after one win (a big win for sure) wanting to step in the box with Shane. Let's see how Earl plays at Turningstone before going after one of the best (maybe the best when break working) 10-ball players in the world. JMO. Johnnyt

Earl was having a ton of problems with the break. Trying to break from the center caused him to come up dry or scratch most of the time. Then tried breaking from to much angle didn't help. Needs to watch where it's successful and break from there even if it's not his positioning.

Did I miss something?

Or was this OP a challenge from Earl's camp to Mike Sigel's (who's yet to respond)????

Come on friends, allow Mike's camp a reasonable chance to respond.

Why?

Why are people, who do not know what it means to "get the last 2" or "give the last 2" playing 9 or 10-ball...posting on a billiards forum?
Really? These people are gamblers in the pool community?
Wow.
Congrats, because you sir.......are an idiot.

wasting oxygen,
BLS.

your right guys

all of you are exactly right the best way to go about fixing this is like this, this is an earl and mike thread so the winner of the earl vs mike match can get the last 2 now back to the earl and mike match!:eek:ps no disrespect to mr.sigal or earl intended just think the kid can pull it off!

This is Mike Gulyassey posting on a friends account for Earl Strickland who asked me to say that his friend Joe Rogan (who was too busy but wanted to post for his friend Mike Sigel) was willing to back the money for a $50k race to 6.723 in a serious game of 12 ball against either Earl or himself or a handicapped race against DippyD provided the money was on the rail and the doors stay closed and there were no fans or Samoans involved ... umm ... yeah, I'm someone saying something, I'm pretty sure of that!

I have given the last 2 tons of times, mostly as a psychological advantage. I'm trying to get the opponent into a negative or defensive posture accepting weight. Right away they think or realize they need help to beat me.

As far as SVB giving it to Earl?.....or Earl accepting it?........I think it would be an even BIGGER psychological move. Even now before it might happen SVB put Earl in a trap. Take the weight and lose....you got smoked "again", take the weight and win and you needed help to get to the finish line so they aren't really even. Smart actually.

now, back to Mike v Earl, lets make that happen IMO. I feel it would be the most interesting match in years.....full of color! BUT....it needs to be a longer set. The money is secondary with these guys......pride/bragging rights would be worth the win alone IMO.

I do not think Mike Sigel will respond to this post because he knows he cannot beat a true athelete and Icon in 10 ball with the rules that all favor the shot maker and cue ball mechanic. Also call shot with the option, no jump cues and 10 ball last takes out most of the luck which beats Earl most every time he loses.

Also Mike's camp knows about this thread and are working on a deal as I type this to you.

These posts seem somewhat contradictory.

Comeon Captain Hook, step on up!

kk9, Mike called me and said he is NOT going to DCC this year and if I could set something up he would be in for it. However he has a couple of stipulations that I am working on and it may take a day or 2 to figure out. So I am going to see if I can do what is needed and once I have that done I will be making a post in response.

Thanks for the update. It sounds promising. Best of luck bringing this electric match to reality!

And why would Mike not go to DCC????

If he is playing as much as it sounds like he is it seems like the perfect format for him to be very competitive. Short races typically favor the lesser player and although he has tons of experience to fall back on he is not in stroke like he once was.

JMO.....

KTown, I do not know why he isn't going. He just said that he wasn't.

Well tell him I'm coming then, maybe that will make him pick up the phone and get a ticket:grin:... it may be my one and only chance to go there, so tell him to get off his ass and stop thinking about himself... It's all about me this time, and I want him there:grin:

Tell him I'm that guy that sat 2 tables over from him in a restaurant at a Reno Sands tournament about 25 years ago. I had a question I was going to ask but he never stopped talking then, so 25 years later he can answer it for me at DCC.

LOL, yeah, Shane is gonna spot Earl 2 balls in 10-ball. He would never do that. I suppose its easy to talk with someone elses $$$ though.

he said the LAST 2 not he will give him 2 balls and i think john mars stakes shane just fyi
