Nice link thanks for sharing but let's not forget Yu Ram Cha beat SVB 10-8 at the Predator International 10 Ball Championships.

Total locked in competitor from what I've seen.
How about yourself vs her, say a few days of races to 21? How would you weight that match? Even?
Thanks

JoeyA,
Of all the people here on AZ, you above most have my utmost respect (not trying to kiss your arse!), so I went back and watched again (admittedly skipped to the parts I was thinking of...). I think there were several factors that lead me to think that she had a "puzzled" or "confused" look a lot of times...numerous missed "easy" shots - or ones that I would consider easy for someone at that level...the scratch at 12:59 - granted the shot buzzer was going off as she was shooting...numerous uses of extensions during the match when it didn't really seem they were necessary - I think this was the biggie for me - this one lead me to believe she didn't have the confidence or commitment to the shot to pull the trigger.
By all means, I don't know her game...perhaps that's how she always plays...and again just trying to explain my comment...the other biggie for me was the missed safety starting at 19:52 - that's really where it came across (TO ME) as a look of confusion...
It definitely wouldn't be the first time I couldn't "read" what a woman was thinking...and it probably won't be the last!![]()
Only the top tier of pro in the US could beat her in 9 or 10 ball a race to 10. Next tier down would be even imo. There are a lot of the top women pros in the world that could hold there own with top men if they had a good mental gambling game. When I played every day and gambled I would bet my own against her on a BB. On a 9'...not so much. Johnnyt
...Let's face it, this isn't tennis.... women should be in there fighting the men....
I agree that at times Yu Ram didn't have the confidence to pot the shot and it probably showed if not on her face then in her shot. The extensions were utilized by both players more often than was absolutely necessary. I even noticed Shane wincing at the noise of the shot clock when Yu Ram was shooting.
This is an important tournament and the pressure was on.
I didnt have a chance to look at the timelines you noted but will try to do so another time.
thanks,
JoeyA
Where does Yu Ram fall on the WPBA rankings? I think she is a very good player and from watching her I do not think I could beat her playing rotation, maybe in a set here and there. I have played some ladies who have played or do play on the WPBA and have beat them. I played Iris Ranola and it was somewhat close but I did not like that and I would say she is Yu Rams speed or better.
She wanted to play Scott Frost I think even, he gave her the 7 out and the snaps I believe and he beat her pretty easily. I would think most male pros would give a female pro the 7 out or better, perhaps some could actually get the 5 out. Now that is a TAR match, Jeanette getting the 5 out from Shane, who would your money be on?
I am guess the top 10-15 ladies would be A players with most the rest being B players and on the bottom end of it they are C players. In Arizona I am rated an 8, Iris was rated a 9 when she played here, Angel Paglia was an 8 but recently got moved to a 9. I would say our 10 speed players could beat Yu Ram and some of our 9s could too, a few post on here.

With all due respect, I think the top woman of today are better than that. Allison Fisher and Co. are not just ordinary A players, they should dust any A player. For example, on the predator tour Jennifer Baretta is rated above the semi pro/open class(along with the pro men).

Kevin, I think Iris is only rated 24th because she has not played in so long, have not seen or heard anything about her in well over a year and change.Lenny
Nice. An opinion based on direct evidence, a rarity here in AZland.
Although, I'm not sure the talent pool is deep enough in Women pool to figure the 24th ranked person (Iris) plays just like the 8th and 9th (Yu Ram and Jasmin). Even by your own rating, my 2 players would be A while Iris would be B.
Thanks
Kevin

The state of high-level tournament competition for both sexes is a shame. You've really got to do some world traveling to stay in action and with the lack of sponsorship and low purses, globe trotting is out of the question. Without a tournament stage, we won't have stars, and without stars, no big purses and sponsorship.
Thanks
Kevin
Like I said if Jeanette Lee and Shane play I am betting on Shane even if he is giving her say the 5 out. Remember when he wins a game and starts breaking then he is in control. I think if Allison Fisher played Shane getting the 7 out she would hate life. Bartram chimed in here, I believe he would give up the 7 out to any female player not in the top 10 and maybe he might give them all that. Perhaps Chris can chime in and tell us what he thinks about the above, what he could give and what Shane could give. What would Shane have to give Jennifer?, probably the 5 out and he would be the favorite. You can take Shane and he is able to give some of the lower pros the 7 out and win, those guys can give weight to most if not all the ladies so someone of Shanes ability will be giving up unreal weight. Iris plays better then Jennifer and she got the 7 out from Frost and he is not a top rotation player so what does that tell you?
