again I did not say he was not guilty but I wont say he did it on the word of people I dont know and have never met and if there is proof then Im sure he will be found guilty its that simple. You want to throw him in jail on peoples word and you cant even tell the truth about about things you did. I belive the truth will come out in court and justice will be served but its not for us to decide.

Look my name is David Savoie, Derek is my nephew it took me awhile to get him to tell me what happened but I can say for sure he's not proud of the way he acted on here but as far as you wanna be tough guys, I will say this my nephew is no punk yes he is out of shape and myself and his other uncles tell him that but Derek did box, that is neither here nor there. I'm on here for Louisiana Tim aka Tim Jerkins, my nephew did not steal and by the way that court date was set for if he WAS guilty he has been cleared and I am asking as politely and christianly as I can for you and those other clowns that took advantage of him to back off. I live in Jennings Louisiana and I will be more then happy to answer any questions anyone may have. My nephew will not be ganged up on here or any where else anymore. If anyone knew Derek they would know he'd do anything for anybody and he is not a thief, yes he does lie at times and I pray that he quits that asap but he does not steal. I just want him to put this behind him and move on. He will have a support system here for him. But Tim you and I can talk about this anytime my friend or Derek will be more then happy to talk to you. You decide.
Can you please clarify how walking away with 3 cues that do not belong to you is not considered stealing? Thanks in advance.

Personally, I find his behavior and posts here just as distasteful, if not worse, than the idea of the theft.

Yet he was bad mouthing his extended family on his facebook posts because you guys were probably disapproving of his behavior too.
Lying, cheating, stealing - it's all the same thing. This young man needs to reflect on what's happening here and stop himself before he gets himself into some real trouble.
Anyway, the best way to let this all die down is for you guys to not get involved here on AZ. That's just a tip from experience.

At the same time you have the nerve to criticize the other many, many great board members who keep all other matters of discussion on this board alive and well.

I just got home from Las Vegas. Here are some facts:
On August 20th, 2012 Mr. Derek Savoie was arrested and charged with Grand Larceny for stealing 3 cues at the Riviera Hotel and Casino.
On August 23th, Mr. Savoie pleaded GUILTY in front of Judge Tobiasson, according to Dectetive Zeh of the Clark County Tourism Crime Unit. Mr. Savoie was sentenced by the court and is scheduled to appear in court again on November 28th.
I accept the court's verdict, but I am extremely disappointed in the DA for offering the plea deal that they did to Mr. Savoie WITHOUT consulting me. I was never consulted and would have never agreed to the deal that the DA offered Mr. Savoie. I am not sure if there is any legal rights that I have, but I would like to explore them.
Message to Mr. Savoie, you probably hit the biggest jackpot of your lifetime with whoever it was that prosecuted your case. Somebody upstairs is looking out for you, and I hope you use it to better your life. From reading your posts, I am not certain. I do feel bad for your wife and family as they have nothing to do with this. I would advice you to make good on your end of the deal with the court.
This is one reason why theft is such a hard crime to prosecute. Even though I personally saw with my own two eyes the whole thing -from the moment that Mr. Savoie walked into the booth, took the cue, and left the booth with the cues without paying- it becomes a he said/she said thing. In this instance, I am lucky to have the cameras backed up my claims.
I am not sure if I can have my say in the next court date, November 28th, but if I do, I would certainly be there to have my piece.
P.S: As soon as I have figured out how to edit, copy and post the videos -yes, it's plural-, I will release them to refute what Mr. Savoie had said earlier in this thread.

NPR guys really know how to word things specifically enough to kno wwho you are talking about but not to actually insult another board member as to not get banned.
