2012 Mosconi Cup U.S. Team members....

Everyone has their favorite players and the players whom they believe will make the best Mosconi Cup Team.

Shane, Brandon, Dennis, Johnny, and Mike Dechaine are a great combination of youth, experience and talent.

If you had been at the New Iberia, LA tournament that Emerald Billiards put on recently and saw the major comeback that Johnny put on Shane, NO ONE would say that Johnny doesn't belong on this Mosconi Cup Team.

In my opinion, Johnny Archer is SUPER SOLID and despite my desire to see up and coming young talent like Landon Shuffett take part in this event for reasons that I have already shared, this is going to be a GREAT team for CJ to Captain. Besides 60% of the USA Mosconi Cup Team is YOUNG SUPER TALENT!With CJ's stewardship, the European Mosconi Cup Team had better get to practicing.

I might also mention that Chris Bartram is not to be overlooked in the future for the Mosconi Cup Team. While Chris has made his way in the pool world as an action journeyman, he has shown extraordinary resolve in tournament play.

Oscar "Ozzieman" Dominguez has been mentioned for consideration as he should be.

Justin Hall, in the future, if he continues his dominance in tournament play should be a consideration as well.

And if the current USA Team prevails as many of us hope and expect, I don't see the need for any changes unless it is for the television viewing benefit, providing the players continue to excel throughout 2013.

THIS WILL BE ONE OF THE MOST WATCHED Mosconi Cup events to date.

My thoughts exactly. The points can say what they want to, but there are not five Americans playing better than Johnny right now.

I'd like to see one of those Boxing Brits get mouthy with Dennis Hatch.

There is no reason to condone violence.

Looking like a really solid team. Glad to see Dennis and Mike on the team.

It's just how I see it. Why Shuff? I have seen him play more times than I can count. Shuff is a up and coming player IMO I have seen him play great pool but not the caliber of hs teammates . Has he had a great year and won a major that I missed? Well anyway good luck Team USA . Not trying to out Shuff just curious

Shuff is in it because he was in the top 3 spots and secured his way in nothing more nothing less... has he won a major this year? Not off the top of my head but he has had some very high finishes in point tournaments so there you have it. Hell have you seen Hatch (not a dig but just an observation) doing anything this year?? I can't believe he got as many points as he did by barely playing this year but he earned his points to be in it!!

I really hope Brandon plays his heart out and all these naysayers can eat it up. Brandon has a huge heart and his outlook on life and pool is what this game really needs. Its just a shame that people don't know or see that. I know Shuff and I think this event is something that is gonna catapault his game to new heights!!

Good luck to all the Americans this year and know that all of us here at home will be glued to our monitors cheering you on!!

I am not condoning violence. I am saying, though, if Darren gets mouthy with anybody on Team USA, as he did with Rodney, it is nice to have Dennis on our side.

Brandon has a GREAT attitude toward pool. I'm expecting great things from him in this event and other events in the future.

Didn't Brandon finish 3rd in the overall USA Mosconi Cup Points list...Nuff Said!

I'd like to know how CJ plans to keep the storm from brewing in this group. It's no Secret that half the team doesn't get along well with Mike D. I think Mike D. is a hell of a player and a decent guy, but I think we all know how Hatch feels about him. And from what I understand from some of the things I've seen and heard there are others that feel the same. I'm not trying to take a run at Mike

I know this creates controversy but I am Genuinely curious as to how CJ plans to approach the coaching role? You obviously want there to be good cohesion between the team so how will you go about it?

I hope they do well, all of them.

Good luck to TEAM USA,

Justin

this is a great team, really glad hatch made it this year even though hes been busy working and not playing much.... USA has a good shot this year!

I think this is the best group of USA Mosconi Cup players in a long long time. As far as Johnny A. making the team I think he he should. He has given 15 solid years to our teams. He always gives 110%. Johnny is a god pick because it's at York Hall. He will be one player they won't shark. Looking forward to watching it. Johnnyt

I'm betting they coexist well enough, given the circumstances.

Hell, I hope they play partners during the event!

Go Brandon and Tean U.S.A.!!!!! Brandon deserve this spot!!!! he earn it!!!

I agree. How can anybody say Brandon isn't worthy? The man attends just about every event he can on the tournament trail, not just on the East Coast, but he travels from coast to coast.

He won a big event in Vegas in 2009 at the Golden Nugget, which gave him free entry into some Middle East tournament. Then the tournament canceled, but another Middle East tournament came. So he did get to go there to that one, instead. I wish I could remember the name of the tournament in Vegas and the one in the middle east.

He won the Virginia State Championship, maybe twice.

I personally watched him spank Johnny Archer and Larry Nevel, and this was a few years back. So I know he's got game.

Brandon Shuff follows the pro tournament trail and treats it like a full-time job, which costs money. He doesn't have a free ride, either.

He made the points, so he's entitled to go. Brandon's got a strong break, and he's a good team player. I think we're all going to be in for a treat!

It couldn't happen to a nicer guy, either. Anybody who knows Brandon realizes what a pleasant personality he has. I'm glad he's on the team.

That right there is a funny statement.

What a sad state NA pool is in when a guy who is 3/4 retired from pool and played 5 tournaments in 2012 that actually made the AZB money list, yet he makes the MC team of the 5 best players America can offer.

Team Europe has trouble picking which actual full time pros they do "not" pick for the team each year. Team America has to figure out which non-pro/semi retired pool players they actually pick for the team each year.

Lets be honest here, it takes a whole lot of spin and some really darkly tinted rose colored glasses to see this as a positive...

Go Team USA

I have to say I'm very happy to see Johnny made the team for the 16th year in a row although after his amazing playing last week at the Open it's really no surprise! I think this year's Mosconi Cup will be a great one to watch, can't wait to see who made Team Europe.

that shows how much talen hatch has, as many have said before hes one of the badest men on the planet. he can not play for 2 months then go run a 5 pack..... trust me he wont be the weak point of the team.

So you want to replace solid players for one that will probably go "on tilt"??? That is just stupid.
Deuel may be a good pick, as long as there isn't a golf course near by.

Hatch and Shuff are solid players and will represent our country well.
Go U.S.A!!!

I just think the team I mentioned has the best chance of winning. I think Earl, Deuel, and Morris are better than Shuff and Hatch. John Schmidt wouldn't have been a bad selection either.

Why Shuff deserves it

This is why...along with being a true professional he is also a gentleman at the table!
