I think if Emily looked 3 balls ahead, in 9 ball, she would play top notch. just my opinion. I love to see women play pool. My sister is 3 years older than me, and we grew up on a public pool table. She would rack, and the breaking would laugh and say, this will be an easy win. It was, right after he missed, my sister ran out on him. My sister still plays good, even though she only plays every now and then.

Come on, RunoutJJ. Creedo shouldn't have to reply to this inquiry. I'm a sideline kind of gal, but I understand pool quite well.
Just don't understand why this is a burning question for you, requiring several posts.

A long road to greatness...
I started this post in connection to someone else's post on a match from September as "my speed". I posted this match to show one that was more recent for those interested and I talked about the ways in which I've been trying to improve after learning from that match (which some people might find helpful). I was also looking for more constructive critisim, I feel like I definitely found some in this thread and I really appreciate it!
I am not saying that I am at the level of the top players yet, NEVER have I said that. I refer to myself as a great player because in my definition of that term I am and everyone is entitled to define things differently for themselves. I take no offense if you don't think I'm great, nor do I care. I am currently an exempt touring professional ranked 20th on the WPBA which by some standards (and currently the only's women's professional tour in America) would define me as a female professional player. I am ranked 8th amongst women professionals in the US (of course only those in the WPBA rankings) and have represented our country in 2 world championships. At this current time you have very few female US players amongst the best in the world and even less that can afford or have the desire to travel internationally. In each world championship you may have only 1,2 or 3 US players and frankly as an American I am always rooting for them because they need it and deserve it.
American players are currently the underdogs because we are going against players that have support from their country, their government and their culture. Many players at the Amway Cup had their coaches there, had everything paid for and only play pool for a living. I work 40-50 hour work weeks to pay for travel & entries, squeeze in practice 3-4 days a week, work with a coach one day a week, play in a straight pool league, captain a BCA 9 ball team and sleep and have a life when possible.
For me Allison, Kelly, Jasmin, Ga Young, Karen and countless Asian champions are beyond great. They are champions, accomplished & renowned. I consider them so much more than "great players".
I have come a long way and I still have a long road to reach the caliber of all these amazing women, most of whom I am friends with and whom I have the highest level of respect for.
I believe that the US culture will evolve into a more supportive place for Billiards and its players one day. I will do my best to help the progress as well. Thank you everyone for your comments and keeping me intellectually stimulated! Please introduce yourself if you ever see me at an event!

Don't know why anyone would play that in the side unless it's one of the top men pros and they were bored. You go 1/2 inch too far and you are heading away from the next ball, have to go an extra 10 feet for position, don't go enough and you have too much angle to hold it for the ball on the rail, or risk a scratch so you have to put spin on the ball. Hit stop shot or draw back a few inches you have a straight in shot with about 1 foot of follow to shoot. A LOT easier to control.
Well if she came on her solely looking for advise she would get plenty of it
But from what I have seen that's far from the case in fact she has given advise on how she and other female should be treated , wow I thought respect was something you earned
No she is not the first male or female to be delusional about their play on this site but its here application of that spurs the comments
I watched her play at the SBE and would say she's a average B player that could improve if she would stay more focused on the game and not where the cameras are ,
I also know one of the other players in that event who I won't name we talked about her perception here and she said she won't bad mouth her that all the woman need to stick together but she could see how the opinions get formed

One of the things the the WPBA has going for it is their presentation. I spent a week with them, producing a video, in Hawaii. What a splended organization. They travel together, have fun together and some pray together. On the tables they're fierce. It's a sweet sisterhood. I'm not telling anyone what to wear (or anything else) but, would you rather see ladies playing dressed like ladies or Buddy Hall (my good friend) playing in the nationals...in shorts?
At the end of the day, ALL of these performers we watch are giving us entertainment and asking for nothing in return. What's to criticize?

It's funny how you posted that you wanted advice to help improve your game yet you turn it around and start giving advice and defending your bad play with excuses.

What you fail to realize is that when champions miss it's a rarity, when you miss it's par for the course.
I also didn't realize that an older, slightly above average B player, who has no clue where the cue ball is going is what's going to save pool. Amazing how you seemed to have elected yourself to that position.

I think Buddha's posts in this thread have been superb, and a credit to the forum.
To have a forum comprised solely of wide-eyed nut-huggers is simply unthinkable. That is what this place has become, BTW.
I don't see many children posting on here. We're all adults, let's hear all sides of the story so we can make up our own mind's. This forum has gone to the dogs alright, but it has little to do with honest assessment of someone's game.
And its precisely why there are B players out there calling themselves "great players" and "pros". Because the mentality here is "Don't question. Don't disagree. Whatever the OP wants to hear is what we should tell them."
Its sad really.
I'm a C, probably C- player and always get an internal chuckle when someone says I am a great player...thanks, but negative ghostrider the pattern is full and I accept that I am not.
This seems to have turned into a very sensitive thread where opinions good or bad are not allowed on either side of the argument.

Agreed. Fair play to the girl. The chances I would have ever heard of Emily Duddy prior to her initial thread? Zero to the power of infinity.
I'm not glad I mentioned it. I can't even drink away my sorrows cause I am not suppose to over indulge during my recovery period from my recent medical issue. Tina knew I was her stalker. I guess some glamour guy from California was more enticing to her than some boring guy from the Midwest.
Emily isn't really my type so not sure what pool shooting female who can draw her ball I am going to find to stalk next.
I'm starting to feel left out. I posted 3 questions in post #7, it's now page 15 and I still don't have any answers. :frown:
