CSI sponsors Mike Dechaine at Steinway Classic

I think this is good for CSI and for Mike. I know Mike can rub some people the wrong way sometimes. I don't know why or how since I'm not in that world, but I know I like to watch him play pool, he has a lot of talent, and could be on the cusp of doing some big things in the pool world.

Sometimes you just gotta take a stand.

Kudos to Mr. Griffin for having a set.

Congrats to MD on the CSI sponsorship.

best,

I think this is good thing for both Mark and Mike. Kudos to Mark for offering this up. I like Mike. I like his ability and his passion for the game. Yes, he can be a smart*ss, but I believe that is the youth of today and Mike is still pretty young. It's a humor thing that older people just don't understand sometimes. Going off at the table is simply frustration that may or may not be cured with seasoning. Good luck to both Mike and Mark!

I appreciate you stepping up and being the "sample example"

AZB just posted our press release about sponsoring Mike Dechaine at the Steinway Classic this weekend.

I know most of the people involved in the drama over the JA/MD texts.
I also know some other 'things' - and all this crap has got to stop.

We are supporting Dechaine because I think he has the right to not join ABP and the right to not join Bonus Ball. And the right to 'do his own thing'.

And for that reason - we decided to show our support. There is a message here. People in the public eye or in any kind of power position (especially in pool) need to be prepared to stand behind what they say. So I guess one should keep their ego in check and be careful what they say and do.

This is about elevating the ethics of the game and I think they need a LOT of raising.

Mark Griffin, CEO
CSI

That's great, Mark, I appreciate you stepping up and being the "sample example".

If any of us here in Texas want to follow the lead how much does it cost? How much did it cost for this sponsorship?

I have some BIG money people that would sponsor several pros if the price was disclosed.
Is it entree fee only, or is there "room and board," other expenses and a salary involved. This information will be passed on asap to those concerned. Maybe we can start a trend.

Is the sponsorship for just this one event or longer term?

Does the sponsorship replace or supplement his sponsorship by Snookers pool room?

CJ;

If you have some "BIG MONEY" folks ready to invest in players' sponsorships, there are no set guidelines, as you know.

You're a very creative guy, why not put that creativity to work setting up some deserving sponsorships?

The specific details of the CSI/MD sponsorship shouldn't really matter - and maybe the details are private, who knows?

I did talk with MD earlier today and he is excited and appreciative for this opportunity.

I sure do like the idea of fighting negativity with some positivity.

Again, kudos to Mark and congrats to Mike.

it's above my pay grade to know the answer. :)

I do appreciate, however, that this CSI/MD sponsorship announcement would cause you to think how you might parlay such news into more good for pool.\\

good luck with it.

Entry is $165.

If you want to put me in, I'm a good horse. I show up to 1/2 my matches. Also, you'll save a little because I live here and wont need a hotel, BUT, you're gonna have to pay for me to skip work for a week... and that might cost more than 2nd place. So... I'm not really sure if it makes total sense on your end. But it's up to you.

Did Barry Hearn tell the American Mosconi Cup players to clean up their image and sell seats?
Can you name the players by their actions?

never mind

I got 2.23 of it

it's like going back to your home town and it's all boarded up.

it's $82.50 for CLEARY

I told a friend last night that they were selling pro sponsorships for $165 and he got a confused look and ask "where can you get em for that price, Wal Mart?" :yeah:

What has happened to our game, I could tell things were going to get bad, but this is difficult for me to watch - it's like going back to your home town and it's all boarded up. I'm SO GLAD there's a light at the end of this tunnel and it's not a train.

I predict by this time next year we will look back at these incidents and get a good laugh.

CJ;

Instead of beating around the bush, why not say exactly what you feel?

Are you chiding Mark Griffin for sponsoring MD for this Steinway event?

Do you have reliable info that this is all there was to their sponsorship deal?

If it is just that CSI paid Mike's entry fee, is that what bothers you, hence your "Walmart" comparison?

As I alluded to earlier, if you do actually have some "BIG MONEY" investors looking to sponsor some deserving players, why don't you arrange for them to get-r-done at a level you feel is more appropriate?
