They always said pool players are dumb and I am guilty of being just that and so are many people in this thread that are quick to judge.
Let me run down some scenarios for those:
1.) Of course the money is not going to be at the tournament. If this Barry guy is as bad as people say he is, then why would players trust him with cash money. Like most people had mentioned, he would probably spend it on booze.
2.) The money is in escrow. Would be the smart thing to do here. If Archer went on the mic to vouch for it then it's all good. Unless, Archer is this dumb pool player, as mentioned above, they're screwed. Nonetheless, nobody is stupid enough to go on mic without knowing where the money is.
3.) Money is in escrow people. Of course he had to write checks out. Escrow means holding company and not some bank where you can walk in and just withdraw. These things take time. If it was that easy then you guys should be blaming the Escrow company and not Barry.
These are the only 3 possible scenarios. If the players got screwed again, then that's on them. I highly doubt it since there was a legit lawyer and escrow company.
For whatever reason why people are mad at Barry but he has came through in this year's tournament. Perhaps, getting drunk was him celebrating a year where everything came to fruition for the players.
