Diamond Bigfoot Ten Ball Challenge

Not too shabby. We've got our veterans - Earl (HOF), Francisco (HOF), Ralf and Corey, all still capable of winning tournaments. Our current superstars - Shane, Dennis, Niels, Lee Vann, Mika and Darren. Our rising stars - Morra, Jayson, Carlo and Oscar. And sprinkle in solid, seasoned players - Rob and The Bartram.

Four from Europe, four from Asia (the PI), and eight from North America. A nice balance there. The open draw will be held on Jan. 23 and the first match will be at Noon on Jan. 24. We will play matches each day at Noon, 3 PM, 6 PM and 9 PM, all in the Accu-Stats arena. This year for the first time you can watch this entire event online. On the last day (day four) the semifinals will be at 2 PM and 5 PM and the finals at 8 PM.

First place is $16,000. Second is $8,000. Third-fourth is $4,000 each.

Awesome Jay, really looking forward to this event. Thanks for the efforts put forth in making this happen.

Cheers,

It's awesome that they will all be in the arena. Matches were a little hard to watch with last year's setup. What I don't get to see in person I'll be watching on ppv.

Thanks for posting the schedule. Not sounding like the Banks will be shown on Accu-Stats then, unless the table is swapped out and the finals only shown at like midnight on Monday. Guess I'll have to drive up and watch it in person. :p

They will save the final matches of the Banks for the next day.

Good work, Jay! I look forward to watching the Bigfoot event.

As far as Accu-Stats streaming goes, are you saying that the Bigfoot matches will be the only ones streamed on the first four days (Fri. - Mon.) -- no Banks or One-Pocket?

Yes, but you will see the final Bank matches and a lot of One Pocket and 9-Ball on the last five days.

It's nice to see a schedule out a month ahead of time. Wish all tournaments were run like that. Johnnyt

I kind of messed up here and left out Ralf Souquet, who had committed early to this event. He will be replacing one of the players, just not sure who yet. It will probably end up being the last guy to pay his deposit. I have 12 deposits or full entries paid already.

JAY,

it is good to see the 10 ball challenge become a bigger part of the derby.
It is a shame that less coverage will be given to banks & one pocket, but advancement brings about change.
I look forward to watching all the 10 ball matches on the main table.

Thanks for all your hard work,

SLIM

Thanks Jay.

You really are an asset and ambassador to pool.

For that I truly thank you.

Ken

So here's how it looks now:

SHANE, DENNIS O., FRANCISCO, NIELS, DARREN, EARL, JAYSON, CARLO, STEVIE MOORE, CHRIS BARTRAM, JOHN MORRA, ROB SAEZ, OSCAR D., COREY, KARL and LEE VANN make up this year's field. Try to pick a winner out of this field. Good luck!

I can pick a few who won't win it.

Every match in this event could have been a virtual coin flip if the right players got in. Instead some potential matchups are going to be tough to get action on even when giving up 3/1 odds.

I would take the top 8 players (of my choosing) and give 3/1 odds on one of them winning over the other 8.

<EDIT> Hopefully Ralph replaces one of the guys who are pretty clearly dead money to win it all. Ralph while not a favorite would have a chance to win it all.

Jay my entry was paid to Julie weeks ago
Let me know you know this

Just about every horserace has a longshot.
Sometimes the longshot wins.

That is what helps makes it exciting.

Jay - if the players weren't given a prior deadline to get in a deposit and/or full entry fee, then I don't see how you could hold that against a player now to have the last four that haven't paid make a mad dash to get you the money. Seems like, if you contact the remaining four unpaid players and state you have 5 days to get me your money and they all comply than either you apologize profusely to Ralf for your oversight or Lee Van (post #170 stated he was the last man to enter) would be out.

They are past the deadline now.

I hear you watchez! But, beauty of invitational is the ability to use your judgement! Jay is obligated to put on the best show possible for accu-stats to sell. If Ralf can help them cover expenses better than Keith Bennett or Stevie Moore than they may be the ones holding the short straw and not Lee Van Corteza or Ralf Souquet!
