Scooter Goodman - 2014 DCC

Yeah, everyone is scared to say it to his face, cause Scooter is such a bad ass...Lol If ppl are going around saying scooter is a thief, then that's just stating a fact, so he shouldn't be mad, but maybe embarrassed.

Joey

seriously...

if he doesn't want to be called a thief he shouldn't steal

i was there yesterday when he played the guy from St. Louis for 40k, they were racing to 3,scooter giving him the 6 and the last 4 and all the breaks. Who does that, if they are serious about winning, makes me wonder if their wasnt something funny going on. He was doing some pretty good stalling and acting too,i know i couldnt hold my cue for that kind of money but he is used to it and its probably not his money, why was he so slow in shooting the out and acting like he was stressing about it,makes me wonder.

Tempted

BTW - George Breedlove reported that Scooter lost a 40k set. Race to 3 for 20k - the other guy loses the first game and asks to double the bet - Scooter is giving up the 6 and the last four and ball in hand (I think) and it goes hill-hill and the guy makes some incredible combination to put the six in and wins the 40k. George said the spot was right.

Thats a tough nut to outrun

Agree

I kind of tend to agree with you Lew. a wild six, the breaks and the Last 4, thats more wieght than I have seen any one give up to anyone who is not just a banger. Especiallaly not for a race to 3 for 20K

There are Guys out there that can give that kind of wieght but they are not many of them. That would be a tough nut for Efren or Earl to Outrun if the guy playing has any kind of break. I would think any decent C player could Skin Scooter with that spot if it was legit.

In this thread, someone familiar with scooters opponent opined that there was effectively 0 chance that he was involved in funny business.

Unless someone with more intimate knowledge of the situation has info to the contrary, I believe that is the most reliable input on the bet.

Thank you. People are also talking about how the guy playing Scooter should be stealing. He regularly plays the same game for $3,000 or more per game and is WAY loser. I would love to see some of these people talking about how easy it must be get up there and play Shane some that way for $3,000. If you are not a hardened gambler I almost guarantee they have no shot.

I agree that without proof, he shouldn't be accused of any business in matches. On the other hand, I do understand where the speculation is coming from having been caught doing what he was doing. That's just one of the prices he will have to pay.

I understand that. I am encouraging that the talk stop on this ONE match. The winner is the best action in the country. He can never win as much as he will lose. I would hate to see him take his money and go home because people keep accusing him of being in on a dump. It's just a stupid accusation to begin with.

Just a couple of quick comments.

First off, the guy from St. Louis is not going to dump anyone. He owns several businesses, has gotten that game from other players for a lot of dough, plays poker with Nelly, and flew in to Louisville on a private jet.

Second, I don't get the double-standard around here. Recently myself another guy were sternly admonished by Jerry. Part of it went like this:

...if I let you two denigrate one another then I have given permission for everyone else to do the same. There is already enough negative crap in the game for a person like myself who would like to see the game gain in respect and popularity to allow you guys to show the world that pool players are a bunch of negative clowns who get off on putting each other down. I just do not see this as the image we need to present to the world of the game.

And so here we are, with this public goat rope, talking about car wash heists, baseless claims of dumping, $40,000 bets on a bar table, coin tosses, the history of dirty money in pool, and all the rest.

Now personally, I don't have a problem with this thread. Pool players are not typically members of the Royal Family and pool is what it is. That includes gambling, hustling, all kinds of characters, questionable revenue streams, variations on all kinds of scams, and woofing.

What I do have a problem with is the double standard. You cannot claim to be concerned with respect for the game, the impact of negative clowns, and the image we need to present and at the same time let threads like this go unchecked.

I am not there but there is only one person from St Louis that I know of that would play this type of game/action and I agree 100% that there is no dumping involved here. This guy is completely legit and would not participate in a dump either way. He loves to gamble and has been known to drop high 5 figures and low 6 figures to champions getting the same game. Sounds like Scooter took a shot to make a huge score and didn't get there.

Whatever the case, I'm glad I'm here watching it. When we talk about
Action & Entertainment, the biggest crowds so far have been the Spot Shot out of the Jaws matchup (Kenny the Russian vs Shane Van Boening) and this Scotch Doubles w/ Breedlove semi jacked up and his partner (why are posters keeping him remaining nameless?? ) against Scooter. It is no coincidence that both include a former Louie Roberts A&E winner.

It's the type of crowds these two generate that Greg Sullivan was looking for at these events.

Keep it going!

The opinions in this thread of people that simply don't have a clue are hilarious.

Keep fighting the good fight IBA but these people will never get it.

It's fair to say the moderation on the forum is largely absent and sometimes contradicts itself.

But I think the actual reason for your warning is they simply don't want two guys
endlessly going at each other's throats. It's tiresome and often leaks into other threads.
After a decade it gets old.

I guess you could read his post as "I'd like all discussion of the negative stuff in pool to stop".
But I'm pretty sure that's not his intent.

He was right to admonish you guys, and he's equally right to let this thread stand.
Scooter playing a 40,000 set with possibly ill-gotten money is news.
It's not 100% positive for pool but at least it's interesting.

Lou and JB pissing in each other's cheerios is pretty much all downsides, zero upsides.
It's nice to see them get a little more strict with the "no ad hominem attacks" rule.

If the no ad hominem attacks rule was enforced AZB would probably be very quiet.

Don't sweat it. No one playing in Scooter's action level gives a shit what AZB has to say about anything. You think a millionaire betting so much cares about what nobodies on a pool forum thinks?

The hard core action people know what's up and they are busy trying to trap each other.

I promise you 99% of the people here at DCC who bother to read AZB laugh at the posts here.

Exactly.... And he has a 12-13 year track record of betting sky high! No reason to dump when you have money to the ceiling. He's way better action than Dippy and has way more money too.....
