played Brittany Bryant today races to 9 on the 9 foot diamonds with measle ball, she spotted me the wild 8 ball and beat me 9-5 then 9-3. I decided to quit after losing a couple hundred, I will try her again in a couple years when I improve.

Later that night I played in the 9 ball U.S. Bar table matches, won my first match 7-2 against Julie, then defeated Cindy Sliva hill hill, she played great pool, she won the womens 10 ball last night.

KIm would have a much better chance in that game.

You are right. Kim is an incredibly talented player and I can learn a lot from her during our travels. But she does not gamble. She only wants to earn all of her income from tournaments which is okay but since im not at her level yet I must do more than cash in tournaments to make it. I dont always make good games but I am trying. And I am improving.

I was a dealer for many year, I have never seen any of this happen. Could it, of course it could. Most reputable casinos will not cheat you, they have a big enough advantage already. The only thing that might happen is they decide they no longer want your action. The only real way of getting kicked out is getting caught counting cards. It is not illegal. But, the casino has the right to refuse your action at any time.

Refusing your action, is just the same as getting kicked out or shut out, it's just a play on words. They may not make you leave, but if you can't bet, why stay, thats basically inviting you to leave passively.

Counting cards is not cheating, just like you said but I believe that if the casino invites you to play their carnival card games, then it's in your best interest to learn how to play to your advantage. The problem is that they are only too happy with taking your money, and every other suckers money, but not too keen on you winning their money by playing smart.

Poker truly is the only real way to make money consistently in a casino, (if you really know how to play and win) and just because the casino rakes, does not mean it rakes you, that's just statistics. Sure they take a crap load of money, but if your a winning player, who cares, you get in, and you get out, and let them do whatever they do, as long as you get out winner the majority of the time you'll do just fine.

I had won about $2,000. The pit boss in this one horse casino had a game that they could not win if you really knew how to count and play it right. I did.

He brought over a red headed kid names Brian. I remember it like it was yesterday. They were dealing 1 deck out of the hand. This pit boss took it kind of personal and even got a little sarcastic with me saying to Brian. He's not as good as he thinks he is.

This pit boss didn't know much except that I was counting.

After watching Brian one the next deck I caught him and he knew it. I smiled at him and said, Tell your pit guy over there that I am that good and caught what was going on here.

Brian looked at me and said I certainly will. He smiled at me and said good job. I still walked away with $1200. They only stole $800 back .

Not going into detail I know how they can cheat. I've even seen shoes that even count the cards for the casino so they know when they have the worst of it.

Dealing seconds and peaking at a card is really hard to catch. You almost need to know the move to catch it.

They didn't kick me out but they did get rid of me.

I'm on the front page of the Griffin Book that has the names and pictures of card counters. I worked with a team back in the 90's. I last about 10 minutes on a table in Reno or Vegas.

wow 2k, must of been a really small place if they are sweating 2k

I am not saying it never happens, just saying in my years I never have. I would not wont to work for people like that. I have been asked countless times about things like this. I can tell you I have never and will never knowingly cheat someone, I would quit first.

There were only 3 people that knew what was going on.

The pit boss, Brian and myself.

I'll bet that the other dealers like yourself that they knew were honest were never let on to what was going on.

I'd even give odds on that bet.

Nothing wrong with asking for a bigger spot. You are out there to make money, don't be shy.

If you do win they kick you out.

Kind of like pool. If you win they don't play you anymore.

I got kicked out of a casino in Reno and the guy acted like he wanted to hurt me.

Then I was at another casino and I got cheated. Card Mechanic. They say this don't happen but it did. I caught them but there was nothing I could do about it except quit.

The only difference is you can do it for entertainment but the ones that think they can actually win are in for a big surprise.

Over and over. It's called going broke.

Plus it does mess up peoples lives.

OMG Geno, if I told you all I know about crooked casinos and crooked gambling devices! Of course that's mostly in the past when Vegas had a lot of small casinos downtown. The places to be careful will always be the small out of the way casinos, and this country is full of them. Try playing poker in some small cardoom and see what happens to you if you start beating the locals. I also have been cheated in a casino and in a poker room. Both in Vegas, and Reno! Even got cheated once (cold decked) in a Los Angeles area cardroom.

Maybe that's why when I hear about someone who figures out a way to beat a casino I kind of admire them for being so clever. It's all just a money game between the casinos and the card counters and outright cheats. Of course if you get caught using some device to defraud a slot machine you will go to jail. After all you are messing with a source of tax dollars to the state, not just the casino.

All these ads I see on TV about problem gambling that are put there by casinos is so much crap. They could care less if you're drunk, on welfare or you just stole the money from a bank! Casinos are there for one purpose, to beat you out of your cash! They will induce and entice you any way they can to gamble with them. They know they have the odds in their favor.

I am here at a casino now and really ready to go home. It's one big trap when you walk out onto that casino floor! If you like to gamble you better not live in Las Vegas. And now we have casinos EVERYWHERE! As far as I'm concerned they are a bigger drain on the economy then another Walmart. At least at Walmart you get something for your money!

We are a country full of addicted people, either on drugs, alcohol or gambling. No wonder we have two million plus in prisons! Okay I'm done with my rant. Can I go home now? ;)

My Dad use to deliver the machines and set up a lot of underground casinos on Long Island in the late 1920's and the 1930's. After he told me what the odds were against you in a casino or even worse in an underground one, I never went in one. That's right, in 72 years I've never stepped foot in one while it was operating. OH i agree, I can spot things that are not right because I have been a supervisor and I just tend to notice things. But, most dealers would not have a clue. Many dont know what is happening right in front of them,

Jay, I used to want to puke when we had to sit thru a stupid meeting about 1 800 gambler, it was a number that is posted on all bathrooms and all over every casino. Like you said, they dont give a crap about you. They want your money.

Youll need alot bigger spot.... to win, (assumming you are a solid B player) ask for the breaks, the wild 7 & 8 and the last 3...

Sure that's alot of weight, but do you want to win is the question?

She plays better than some A players I know.... who are not slouches at all...
