Tony Chohan vs Dennis Orcullo

You and PT need to quote each other more often, and play scotch doubles as a team while drinking some scotch doubles. PPV's will be purchased

Yeah, Walter could use a partner....before the tsunami hits....

In the Facebook post, does it looks like Tony is still trying to raise the 50K? Personally I don't think the match will happen if that's the case.

" I want to thank everyone in my corner to many to name now lets get this money minimum 50k each lets get it I need to get back to gametight mode "

You make a good point. Somehow they established and agreed to a date with the pool room and POVPool, so perhaps they agreed to a lesser amount with hopes of it increasing.

Not the case, he just doesn't use punctuation. I will try to correct it.

"I want to thank everyone in my corner, too many to name. Now lets get this money! The bet will be minimum 50k each. Let's get it! I need to get back to gametight mode"

LOL thanks for the corrected transcription! Now I get it.

I want some too!!!

shims?

Shims are added on pieces....they rarely come out right.
Extended rails are just longer, so a tight pocket is predictable when you're getting a ball
out of the jaws.

First off, if anyone has been to ca billiards or knows me will tell you there is not one shim on any of my tables. my tables have new rubber and then the pocket size is cut and a facing is put on each rail edge. Anyone that knocks Ernesto Dominguez obviously knows nothing of table maintenance. One of the best in the country, don't kid yourself.

That being said, this match will take place on our Blue label Diamond table that has a pocket size of 4 and 1/8 and will have 860hr Simonis tourn blue cloth. They will be playing with Cenntennial balls and a measle cue ball.

All money is already up!!!!! This is a $100,000 match. I would not hold this match if money was funny. I don't play that way. If it is played in my house you can believe it is real.

Tell um, chris.

Well that's besides the point he brings up many are scratching thier head on this one ,, he's way below DO's Fargo rate similar to Scott , and no way in hell has he been in the big money games DO has been in either ,, it's highly unlikely he can put a big enough lead on him like Shane has where he will buckle either ,, but like you what do I know

Frost in his interview . said he was paid to play.
I'm sure Dennis was also.
Rumors range from 10k to 30k. Nobody knows.
If true, who wouldn't want to play?
Get a stake horse and tee-it-up.
It makes for a good show.
This may be pool's only avenue to grow the sport.

And this is how rumors get started. Both players had backers, that much is correct. Both SIDES received some income from the stream sponsors and whatever the players could raise on their own from patch sponsors etc. Scott probably did better in this respect than Dennis, who already has a deal with Tiger. The amounts were relatively small (a few thousand at best), nothing like what's stated here.

In the end, Dennis did quite well, getting a healthy slice of the pie. He does not depend on upfront money as much (that's a small bonus), preferring instead to focus on booking winners. That's where the real money is, especially in a match like this. :)

All I know is it should be an interesting match, if Dennis plays like he did against Scott it
could be tough on Tony. In any case I'll be watching.

I can see why your called smashmouth, because if you said some of this shit face to face you would be getting your mouth smashed in on a regular basis.

Tighter pockets than D.O. had with Frost. Humm, ''if'' Cohan is the better ''mover'' and has a better cue ball, the pocket size could be the key.

I remember when the IPT was starting to play out, and the talk of a couple non pro 8 ball players than play patterns better than the pros.

Yes, I am certainly hoping that some people think tight pockets will favor Chohan and that Tony has the better cue ball - if they are willing to wager based on those assumptions.

Dennis is a deadly accurate ball pocketer with a great cue ball. I'd be surprised if the tighter pockets are a factor here. If there was a 1 minute shot clock THAT would help make this match more interesting as a game with a lively tempo would better suit Tony--but IMO he's up against it here.
