ABP boycotts Berhman's event

I would notice if there were 20 to 50 extra "me"s playing in the tournament. Being a 7 is nothing to shout out about. I would hate watching a major tournament if there was 20 of me banging balls around because being a 7 is far from being able to six-pack someone like a pro can.

The power of editing. I'll bet there are some 7's that can run nine balls in order. Enough to edit it up. Notice you never see a 20 min safety battle. It gets edited out. Edit out all the dumb errors, and they all look like Mosconi. This is how they have been ruining (running) our sport for nearly 40 years now.

I can assure you that Johnny Archer did post !!!!!! This is Shawn Putnam and me and JA are online under the ABPPros name ! Me and Johnny are doing an exhibition here in Gainesville,FL. and will be online here tonight at 11pm to answer all the questions that you have about ABP buisiness. We are looking forward to clarifying any misunderstandings that you may or may not have about the ABP !

Honest question. Are you going to cry like a little girl when the points Earl and Dechaine get in the US-Open end up costing you a spot on the Mosconi Cup? Are we going tohear about how unfair it is, maybe have a threat of boycot unless Matchroom removes the US-Open as a ranking event and works it so that you make the team and Earl does not?

I realize that you are giving them the benefit of the doubt, and that is appropriate.

It just doesn't seem to be what the President of an organization and one of the members of the Board should or would be doing. Or how they were doing it.

Yes, perhaps they aren't computer savvy or comfortable. Yes, their wives might do it for them. I am quite sure these guys know how to use their cell phones, and could call their wives to make the posts for them, or call someone that they know posts here.

I find it difficult to believe, given the content of the two posts by that account. If it truly is them, I apologize for not believing them, though they haven't presented themselves in avery professional manner thus far. I am of the opinion that I won't be apologizing.... :p

It's easy to prove. They can just answer the verifying questions that only *they* would know, but I like your way of thinking. I think you're exactly on point about giving the benefit of the doubt.

In fact, the lack of immediate reply is very "Shawn-ish." He is a man of few words. He's actually a very nice person and really does care about pool advancing.

Are you the real JAM?

If so, tell me what Keith likes to drink with his jelly-roll... you have 5 seconds...

I respect what the APB is trying to accomplish. They want sponsors and promoters to be fully capitalized at the beginning of an event.

But the big potential sponsors are going to look at how the players have treated the people who have put up money in the past to help them get to this point.

The ABP is now punishing a guy who has risked his own money to keep one of the best events going.

This will prevent potential future sponsors from wanting to get involved with them.

You know, you are right about that. I had not thought about the downward-spiraling effect of how this could play out.

AZBilliards interview with Behrman and Morris

AZBilliards has conducted an interview on RunOut Radio with both Barry Behrman (U.S. Open Promoter and Founder) and Rodney Morris (ABP Board Member) that is currently being edited and will be posted on our front page by late Friday afternoon. We think you will find the comments from both sides to be enlightening and reasonable. Please tune in when this interview becomes available on Friday.

Were these separate interviews or one with both parties?

Talk is cheap Barry's been making it happen for 35 YEARS

I think stating that Barry has "an absolute disrespect for players" was over the line.

The man has been running this tournament for almost 30 years, and is loved by many. To make such a claim is a bit irresponsible, in my opinion.

I think you should apologize.

I also agree with you and I wonder just how much that Sam has done for pool over the last 35 years to be so out spoken in this matter. This is the 36th US OPEN 9 Ball Championships coming up so the guy Sam is putting down has been working hard for the last 35 years running this tournament!!!!

Who's Sam?

According to Barry Behrman, he's stuck 150k right from the git go:

The newly formed ABP, in their first major pre emptive strike, sound a lot like the original Charlie Williams led UPA...

Eric >hello 2003

Sounds like Charlies driving from the back seat. Oh by the way did anybody else notice how when promoting his 14.1 tourney in N.J. he calls it the longest running tournament. Barrys is the longest running tournament in the world as far as pocket billiards goes. When you take a tournament that wasn't held for a number of years and someone else starts it up again and uses the same name as far as I'm concerned it's not the same tournament, and saying that is just a cheap shot toward the longest running tournament which is really Barrys US OPEN jmho

Shawn Putnam can't make a post without using multiple exclamation points. I knew from the first line that it was him. Check out his other posts & you will see that his punctuation is exactly the same. http://forums.azbilliards.com/search.php?searchid=6691425

Shawn has never been good about posting here or staying up to date with things going on here and I don't know that Johnny ever tried. Word of advice here guys - don't get on here and make posts unless you have time to spend here replying. Jumping on here to announce yourself and running off is extremely annoying to most on here who are better schooled on how posting on forums works.

You're better off doing like the people from Tx attempted to do a few yrs ago and just start a chat room on ustream. Is there anyone where you're at right now that can stream you? Answering though a stream will be much easier than keeping up with the barrage of posts that will happen on the message board.

Any streamers in Gainesville that can meet up with Johnny & Shawn at the pool room & stream a Q & A through the streaming chat?

It doesn't make sense that Johnny would post under ABPpros member name since he already has a member name on this forum, unless, of course, he lost his cookies and forgot his password for the older member name.

I didn't know Johnny posted here before. None the less, Runout Radio will have the scoop for us tomorrow. :)

I know this isn't the action forum, but I will take 1000-1 that SVB beats Darren Appleton in the finals of the 2011 US Open 9 ball championships. I got $10 burning a hole in my pocket.:D
