hi
I would think that John Schmit has ran more 200s in straight pool than he has ran 8 packs in 9 ball. I would would think he has ran more 200s in straight pool than a 8 packs in 10 ball. I would be surprised that John has ever ran a 8 pack in ten ball (it's that much tougher than 9 ball).
I mean no disrespect to John but running 72 balls (80 balls in 10 ball) in order seems to me to be harder than running 200 ball ramdonly.
running 8 racks is just unlikely because you got to get shot on lowest ball which is luck.
how about this ill play ten ball, break them take ball in hand to start.
another player can play 14.1 with ball in hand on every breakball and i promise i run 8 racks of 10ball before they run 200.
running 72 in numerical order is easier then 200 in 14.1 ,it just seems harder because you have to get lucky and get shot on 1 ball.
to run 8 racks of 10ball takes way more luck off break,14.,1 you have to get position on like 15 breakballs and make them.200 is harder i promise then running 10ball in order because you dont have to leave break ball you rack them up and bust them.
once again im saying running 8 racks at 10ball is more unlikely but not harder.only reason is because you have to get shot on 1ball.
if you fix that problem by giving player ball in hand after 10ball break you would see top players could run 8 racks of 10ball way more often then running 200.
ill even give them bih on bb in 14.1 every rack and believe me thats huge because thats the toughest shot eack rack usually.
also in 14.1 your not shooting randomly, you have to set up for breakball and break rack out ,with tons of tight pos, clusters etc etc.
funny thing to me but all the guys on tour who say 14.1 is boring and easy have high runs of like 67,and when they play the game they look like their head is going to explode.
