Last night UpstateAl, Gammaray, Jamison Neu, and I were on Skype solving all the world's problems when Mander's name popped up on UpstateAl's list. Al said he was going to invite her to the group and reminded us to congratulate her for winning the Houston Open." Of course we said, "bring her in, bring her in!" She has got to be one of the nicest people in pool ... and so humble. It was such a delight speaking with her and boy did we have more then just a few laughs.

Toward the end, when she had to leave, I wanted to tell her that I had been following her on many a stream (never in person darn it), watched her progress, and that I thought someday she would end up in the HOF just like Robin Dodson should she continue as she has. I also told her I thought she should know that a lot of folks think the same way -- all as a means of encouragement. A person with a real (full time) job going undefeated and winning the Texas Open is indeed a very high accomplishment. Imagine what this young lady could do if she were fully sponsored like many of the young ladies overseas.

I asked her to PM me if she is ever in "that situation" where she is "just shy" ($20, $50, $100) of being able attend an event that really meant something to her/her pool career and I would help out where I could. I told her others feel the same way; however, she uttered a bit of disbelief in that humble sweet manner of hers.

Come on AZers, jump in here and show your encouragement (not necessarily monetarily but verbally) to this "feltress" (<---no such word, but it does fit her) who has brought us so many exciting moments on stream with countless more to come.

You rock Manders, on and off the table.....and that's the God's truth girl!

(Special thanks to Trig for introducing me to Manders by way of providing me stream links back in the day!)

Nice post Bob! That is awesome to be able to not hit many balls and still be able to snap off a tournament like that! Congratulations Amanda! It was good to talk to you again! Hope to see you in the HOF one day!

Great post Bob! Amanda Lampert has been a force on the Texas pool scene for many years now. It's great to see such a nice combination of skill, dedication, and the right attitude! Congratulations Amanda, on the Texas Open win, and we hope to see you in the winners circle of a WPBA event before too long!

Hey forgetaboutit

Amanda lampert first of all Congrats on the win at the "Houston Open"and we are all proud of you in The Great USA keep on keepin on. Y'all

Most excellent post Bob....Manders really "IS" all that:yes:.....plus...her sense of humor is hilarious as anyone who has her as a friend on Facebook knows!!!...I've never had the opportunity to actually meet her but maybe one of these days I'll be able to get out to Texas to do just that along with meeting that crazy bunch of friends she runs and shoots with (exception here is Melinda...my YROT...who I finally met last year at the Mosconi Cup).....

Stay true to yourself Manders and keep on shoot'n.....look out WPBA!!!!...

Jackson:thumbup2:

Keep up the good work Amanda...We never met in person but you seem to be a genuine great person...My lil buddy Gary talks highly of you & that says alot cuz he hates almost everybody..lol:thumbup:

I don't think many realize just how amazing Amanda is. Numerous Houston Open wins, numerous Texas Open wins and numerous OB ladies tour wins. On top of that, in 2000 she won the coveted BCAPL Womens Open 8 ball singles. She is not only talented tho- she has the biggest heart and an amazing personally! And beautiful to boot!

I'm glad someone finally caught this. Amanda won the Houston Open this year and did not even play in the Texas Open this year. Of course, she already has many Texas Open wins under her belt. :p

...and yes, she "IS" all that! :p

Wow!

You guys and gals are killin' me here! Are you trying to make me cry or what? lol... Of course, they would be/are happy tears! This thread has got to be one of the sweetest things!!! I am very honored to receive such recognition from you all and I am very lucky to have you all in my life - albeit over the internet for some of you. :) I sure am glad I checked this today! :)

I do want to clarify that one main reason I do not ask for help is because I almost never practice so I am not very consistent in my pool playing. So, that said, I would not feel right accepting help from anyone because I don't think it would be a fair thing to do. I am sure you all understand that. :)

Again, THANK YOU ALL for the kind words. I really appreciate them more than you know.

Peace,
Amanda

Apparently I need to spread more love before I can give you a good rep! LOL! So I'll just say it here!

I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU! xoxo

Great Shooting Amanda. I'm sure the AZ Family would be happy to chip in for help to get you to Tour events.

And that video in the OP, funny stuff.

Nice post Bob. That jib jab video is great! But, I gotta say that as humble as Amanda may be, that video proves she has a BIG HEAD! I mean, how can she ski so well when she's so darned top heavy? I can only assume she's this guy's brother:

(all in good fun of course, and mega kudo's to Amanda for yet another incredible performance!)

KoolKat - I guess it's a good thing I don't ski! lol ;) Also, I am nobody's brother but I am somebody's sister... ;) HA HA!!! Too funny!

TimKrazy - yes that video was hilarious! Only thing is is that I would probably have a look of terror on my face instead of that huge smile. LOL!
