Shoot Pool, not people

It has been one week since the match with Corey and Shane. As many of you know, I made quite a few bets on the match. All but two people have paid me so far. And both of them have communicated with me about payment, so I am waiting patiently to see what happens next.

If it were the other way around, trust me when I tell you everyone I owed money would have been paid long ago. After the Yang-Orcullo match, I sat at my desk and wrote about six or seven checks the next day. I will NOT mention any names of anyone still owing me money, so don't ask. I'm going to wait another few days and see what happens.

There is a third person who made a rather large bet with me. He cleaned out his paypal account and sent me a check which covered three fourths of what he owed me. I have no problem with him, since he is obviously making an effort to take care of this. In fact both the other two people have communicated with me and assured me that payment was coming. So, we'll just have to wait and see.

When all have paid me, I will inform you here. And if someone does not pay me, I will inform you of that also. I am not writing this to tell you that I have a problem of any kind. I am a patient man in matters like this. I am owed a lot more money in other places right now. A LOT MORE!

I am writing this because several people have asked me how it turned out for me. So here it is.

I like to hear that most guys are making good on their action-that will mean more action later, just like Ebay there will be a few flakes and they will be fingered. And I doubt that Jay will get stiffed at all, .....I stiffed him once and about 2 weeks later these huge guys came and beat me up over $20, it was bad AWALYS PAY JAY. ;) .....just kidding-it was the other way around, Jay stiffed me after I drilled him playing banks. ;)

When your good action you get good action.

Two weeks is an acceptable time to sort out a bet, I didnt hear from who I bet with for 3 or 4 days and was cool with that-he was busy and I knew it, there isnt any reason to worry about getting paid or paying the bet the day the match ends. If I lost I would have needed a couple days because I had a few things going, if I didnt I would have done it the next day, you cant expect someone to stop their life to get you paid, so thats why 2 weeks is cool with the mail, etc. Longer than 2 weeks then there is a problem and I wouldnt give action to that person again., I dont give action to anyone who I would ever have to worry about, if you do you didnt do your homework.

However who I had action with is like doing business with a bank- I had ZERO concern and he is 100% going to get a shot at it back, thats another thing its awalys important to give who ever you collect from first action next time, I have one reputation and thats worth more than any bet will ever be worth. Winning one bet and leaving is bad business or giving action to other people first. I like happy customers. ;)

If one of the guys you bet with is Kevin Trudeau, don't worry you'll get it in monthly installments. Maybe.

I am just glad you posted that you had all that you wanted. I came home & was ready to post you a nickle or dime offer.

Soon it will be two weeks and two people have not paid me yet. One gave me the check in the mail story, and the other told me something about a problem with Paypal. A third person has paid me three quarters of what he owed me. And eight other people paid off within four days.

I will begin to name names in two days if I have not received payment in full. It amazes me that some people put such a low value on their reputation.

I was paid and out of town when the check came in, I got a call from who I bet with to ask what happened and to make sure if I got paid, the check was there(thanks sir) thats a stand-up guy, I wont name him, but I would do the exact same thing had I lost, I like my reputation and I'm a perfect pay when I lose,

Jay, to protect others go public with who isnt man enough to pay you, to protect others, in 5 more years there will be alot more action like this and the guys with a good reputation will awalys have action, the nits will have saved $200 and never have a shot at getting even. I agree, man my reputation is worth alot more than $200, and thats why I have more than $200 to bet with. Best of luck, (i)Trader thing is cool but they need a (i)action section here, so you know your betting with stand up guys only. it dosent need to state the amount just if the guy paid the bet.

I am curious, Jay, to what % of dead beats there are here as opposed to the pool room atmosphere itself. Can you tell us the % of people who haven't paid as well as the % of the total money wagered? I hope you end up with 100%. You deserve it.

You know what's funny, I bet the two that haven't paid are more than likely some of the lowest wagers that Jay made...

Just like the pool room....

2 week..no payment= LAME REALLY LAME
Sorry you are having these problems, Jay.

Jay, it's a new/old era. What do I mean? I once accompanied a young (age 30) player to the big "money" hall in this area of the woods. Yeah, I backed him a bit. This "kid" is ranked AAA, just short of pro. Once in this hall, he pointed out a guy to me...watching, I'd say this guy has has a very good game, AA minimum.. The AAA player said to me that he'd beaten this guy for 100...but what did he get?

Only 50...with a promise to pay the rest later. Later never came. But..to the AAA player? "Hey, that doesn't matter...I own his ass, and he knows it."

To this kid? It's all about, being top dawg, having the right to pee higher up the lamp post. The money is only part of it.

The top dawg pro of this area better be aware...a kid after his donkey is coming on, and the $$$ don't matter. This young AAA player said it to me well, like just out of "The Hustler": "I don't want the money...I want HIM!"

The beat goes on...

Jay,

If you out the people that stiffed you I think you should post who paid you promptly as well.

D<-- paid up quick

perhaps i wasnt clear, a second thing a "action rep" in addition to the trade rep. this is the worlds largest rail if the action challenges continue and i believe they will, so it would be cool to know who to book with and who to avoid.
