Good idea, and to take it one step further, you don't even have to buy the item. If you just bid on an item from an eBay seller, you then are able to request their full contact information through eBay.

You can also sort by completed listings with a specific user name....and see what he tried to sell or sold.

It seems this may be a guy some people in the industry knew about already. I am going to do some more research about possible legal remedies and a few other things.

If it is who I think it is he will probably hear about this thread. We have known about you for awhile and up until now just havent been motivated enough to do anything about it. Keep one thing in mind. The next time you sell a bootleg TAR DVD through the mail there is a very good chance it is friend of mine buying it to verify my suspicions. Or it could very well be a U.S. Postal Inspector. If you want to find out what I will do if you keep it up you keep right on doing what you have been doing.

Take one thing on faith, when I get concrete proof, your name will be all over every pool forum and live stream I can find as a thieving POS.

I am putting you on notice that I am motivated now and that the pool world is a small place.
 
Just report it to EBAY

Not that Ebay cares about selling bootleg merchandise, because they don't. If you make them aware of it they will end it, because they can't be seen as supporting it.

Recently I rolled in a guy who was selling Kid Delicious, Billiard Gods and Pro Skill Drills DVD's. Turns out they were all burnt on recordable DVD's selling for 5-10 each in auctions.

Once Ebay was notified by me, they refunded my money, shut down his auctions and closed his account. Of course he can pop up using another name.

JCIN your report as a the distributer will go far. I would find out who this guy is and report him. The FBI handles these copyright infringements, supposedly $250,000 fine per occurrence......go get em.

Lenny once spoke to me about someone in the East who is/was a known dvd thief. He was doing everyones - accustats, etc. He said he had a town, etc. on him but couldn't generate enough interest from the various entities to go after that.

Once that kind of info is availabe there are lots of legal avenues to bringing down the heat. If it's the same person It's time to get down. I'd be happy to offer up a strategy if needed. M

Same guy. I don't know if he is known yet or not but as soon as I have proof he is going to be.

I have realistic expectations of what can be done in these cases so I am not getting my hopes up. One thing I promise is I will make this guys name into something synonymous with douchebag.

Well If it is the same guy I think there are legal ways to make him more miserable in the long wrong. If there is a name, address, city, website I think it can be done. And i'm willing to do some of the leg work if that's required. but action and a plan can get it done. let me know.
 
I know someone posted a link to his store but at first, I tried to find him on EBay by username and couldn't figure it out. Can someone explain it to me so I might keep an eye on him on occasion. By the looks of his store, he also had some other boot legged
DVDs for sale.

This is a small community, and someone who has bought one of these DVD's should post the sellers information.
I can tell everyone Justin works very hard to bring exposure to our sport.
Having someone disrespect and steal from him deserves what they get..

Wasnt there someone on here several months ago selling burned copies of matches. I think I remember reading a thread where someone bought some and they were no good and the seller said that is how they received them. It seems like someone was banned from teh forum afterwards.

It is extremely frustrating when this kind of crap happens. There is a lot of work involved, even moreso with TAR because they put the entire event together - planning and then executing - post production, then sales and distribution. Every penny should go right back to TAR.

(FTR) A few weeks ago I burned about 40 copies of John Schmidt's 154 Ball Run at DCC (2009). You can only get that DVD from me and from John. The only way to get copies of any of those DVD's is from me or the players featured in the DVD.

Now about this digitdick guy... if it is the same person I am thinking of, he was selling bootleg versions of my 9 Ball book about 3 years ago. I bought two. I kept 1, and I signed the other one and sent it back to him with a request for my money back and a list of all sales of the bootleg copies he sold on E-bay.

I never heard back from him, but to my knoweldge he stoppped selling my book. I hope Ebay shuts him down, or that Justin can knock the $hit out of him. Whatever comes first is fine with me.
