Blame a family whose house is robbed because they didn't lock the door?

Blame a woman who is raped because she wore a short skirt and walked alone at night?

Just because someone doesn't cover their ass doesn't mean they are to blame! Sure, they may have been able to avoid the incident if they had followed the proper protocol but that does not mean they are to BLAME!!!

This is backwards thinking and not right. I'm not attacking you personally here, but that justification for someone being taken advantage of is absolute hogwash.

Did the case go through, or did the money get returned?
When someone ripps someone off are there any reprocussions on az
Ex: bann, Ip Ban, blacklist(do we have one)

I have no idea why Ross was banned. That doesn't concern me nor do I care. If he said something that broke the rules of the forum, then perhaps it was justified. I don't know the whole story. This is a forum that is owned privately and is not subject to the first amendment, so if a moderator doesn't like him he can ban him. Now, if the issue runs rampant the moderators might find backlash and they may lose their members to another forum if one were to emerge, that's the cost of running a business. I'm not suggesting anything about the conduct of moderators or members on this forum!

What I was referring to was the backwards thinking presented in assigning blame to the victim of a crime. Ross not protecting himself in the transaction doesn't seem like the reason he was banned, so I'm not commenting on his banning.

A lot of deals have both the buyer and seller unhappy.
The truth - a times - is somewhere between both stories.

I agree 100% that Ross is one of the good guys. Hell I just completed a transaction with him during the middle of this entire ban. He had the perfect opportunity to leave me hanging, but he didn't because he is an honest and stand up guy. Ross isn't to blame, he is an honest buyer and seller and he is someone that we want on this board!

He bought a cue on ebay and it went south. He dragged the argument here and when warned, turned on me.

This is the short version.

If he bought it in ebay, he should be taking it up with ebay!

If he has knowledge that Roland is an AZ member and he believes he can recoup his money by taking action here, then I think it is permissible and it's what I would do if I was out that kind of dough. If he attacks an undeserving moderator then that is his fault.

No matter what, blaming a victim of fraud because he didn't take the proper steps to protect himself is still wrong. Yes, maybe he'll learn his lesson, but that doesn't make it right that he got screwed.

I have no interest in this deal, not sure why I even got in the middle of it, so I'm done... but blaming a victim is always something that rubs me the wrong way.

being a person that has been banned once i can tell you it isnt the transaction history of a member that gets you banned. wilson is right. cover your asses gentlemen. ross was banned from the because of his actions on the forum. as was i at one time but ive learned. if you attack the owner they will throw you out. thats the way any buisness in the country works.

i think wilson is pretty good with the banning. he doesnt just fly off the deep end. he warns you and leaves it in your hands. i understand ross was pissed. anyone would be. its not right what happened to him.

wilson sees zero profit from the our transactions. therefor its buy or sell at your own risk. take the extra step esp with someone you do not know. personally i only deal with certin ppl on here. ones i know i can trust.

One of the problems I have with Wilson is that he sometimes makes little remarks to wards the person he's warned. It's as if he's enticing or antagonizing them and trying to push them over the edge so he can ban them.

(I'm sure he'll ask for an example and I don't have one. Nor will I waste my time trying to find one. It's just my opinion.)

AND, the ebay seller is also a member here who has ripped off other members. Seems like bringing it here to help with resolution and warn others was warranted.
