Barry Behrman Stiff Video

wow !!!!!!!

barry is a disgrace to pool, how he got the privlige to promote the most prestigious 9 ball tournament in america is beyond me !!!! his bumbling rants on camera in front of the tv table are embarrassing, and he lets the world know his favorite drink crown and diet speaks for itself !!!! on a brighter note, props to shane ,hard work truly pays off, he is a shining star in a messed up industry. gary henry owner of garys victor billiards

I think it was right before this "speech" Dennis made a beautiful speech thanking all the fans and sponsors and shane and saying he played his best, etc. It really captured the moment. Then, Barry ruined that great moment with either the linked ramblings or another set of ramblings.

I think this was just poorly sold sarcasm by Barry. If he really were making "hundreds of thousands" doing this every one of us would be running a 9-ball tournament.

The above quote was my interpretation this video as well.

But, Barry's awkward presence on camera is enough to tell you he's problems too big for the altruistic pursuit of pool happiness that he preaches!

I think everyone needs to listen again. He was joking. He has a horrible sense of humor.

The worst was when he was demanding his staff bring out the champagne. He said get it out here now or you won't get paid.

Now, was anyone not paid?

There are things you don't joke about ...not paying players when you have a history of not doing it is one of them. The guy should not be running our biggest event.

He does look like a little Leprechaun.

More like a Leopard Con. He seems to change his spots with each new Con Job every year.

Maybe its just the Green jacket.

He was teasing Dennis about showing up in the Philippines for a month. I hope Dennis is paid before then. He could end up MIA.

Surely it was said in jest

Surely he wasn't serious. It was a jab at the people who think that Barry is raking in the bucks while stiffing the players. He's only stiffing them because he's not making money. Ultimately, Barry is a disgrace to the game. He's completely unprofessional. He's publically intoxicated. He's irresponsible with the tournament finances. I hate to admit it, but pool would be better off without the US open in its current condition.

that's him?!?! seriously???? :rotflmao1:
hell Honey, even I could whip his ass!

He needs an asswhooping more than just about anyone I've ever seen. He likes to taunt, shove around, and muscle people he owes, all while his party never stops.... Well, if he played that with me we'd both be going to the hospital. Him to get my foot out of his ass and me to get my shoe......

The funniest jokes are rooted in truth.

And that really is him.

I think 2 things about the us open:
A- it has been the biggest and most prestigious pool tournament in history;
2: Barry needs to go.

Did you happen to see the short vid of when he brought out the marshmallow gloves for him and Jay.

Jay was just dicking around but Barry was trying to get in on him and connect with his head.

A couple of wild right hooks he tried. Jay should have just kicked him in the FKing nuts.

What a sorry display of drunken knobishness that was.

Barry needs to lay down the bottle and throw away the straw!

Barry is a true POS!

How can anyone f people out of money and then turn around and joke about it?

No Barry the real joke is YOU!

You have some fans and some players that take their vacation for this tournament and they spend good money to stay there and eat there, and then they finish in the money and cant get paid so they can recoup some of their money back that they paid to be there.

And then they have to listen to this drunken and highed up asshole speak. .

Barry you really SUCK!

What it is is sad.

I am sure Barry doesn't want it to be this way and would rather not have to face the facts. At this point he can't do much more than face it head on and remark on it.

As detestable as I find it I feel sorry for Barry because what he was trying to say is that he does it for the love of the game even though it's a money loser for him.

I believe that. Sad but true.

It's most likely a money loser BECAUSE of him. That's what is truly sad. In the right hands there would probably be a larger audience both in house and streaming. In fact in the right hands I'm sure there would be sponsors and TV rights. In this day and age of social media and political correctness no sponsor will touch anything Barry is involved in for fear of being associated with the inevitable. Sad but true.

I agree.

Of course, he was trying to be sarcastic and funny, but it didn't work. When it comes to money, everything is *not* funny when you're winning big money and not getting paid. :(

I know Barry has a loving family who surround him. I'm sure they are embarrassed by his behavior when he drinks to excess. I kind of think that is why his daughter is not a part of the Open admin staff this year. I hope his family can get him the help he needs.

In the interim, I sure do hope those post-dated checks clear next Tuesday.

Where was Shannon this year?

Did I just tune in at the times she wasn't around or was she absent?

There are so many stories of Barry stiffing or late-paying those who compete in US Opens. It should never get to the point where he jokes about it, and even moreso if it is still happening as he is cracking the jokes because it then becomes more of a taunt.

If it's true that Barry had just short-paid a Chinese player $1500 causing that player to miss his flight home, all while Barry kept asking that the "expensive" "$100 a glass" champagne continued to be poured, then he really does need to go away.

And, I agree, it's amazing to me that he hasn't met with some physical retribution over the way he handles his biz.

Whatever happened to the past promises of escrowing the prize money?

best,
brian kc

After this forum posted vulgar words about Barry and his daughter last year, I'm sure she's had enough of pool players and pool tournaments. I was terribly embarrassed that this forum wrote those nasty words about her. It was totally uncalled for.

This is what I remember reading on AzBilliards Main Page, posted on June 10, 2014: I’m very pleased to report that, again, this year’s event will be sanctioned by the World Pool Association and will be a Tier II rankings points event with $72,000 added making the total prize fund $200,000. All added money and players’ entry fees will be secured with Suntrust Bank months in advance.
