This Barry cue is just spectacular. The flow of the cue is amazing, and check out that grain in the cocobola.

Should this cue get played with???? is every cue ever made just a cue? My feeling is that some surpass being just a cue, and they are works of art. These should just be looked at and enjoyed, if thats your pleasure. I have no problem with anybody playing with a $100,000.00 cue, go to it. I just feel that for me, there will always be some that I think moved into the work of art class,

I have waffled on this, saying I will be playing with it..........but I just cant do it. Check it out and tell me what you think.

Heres Barrys writeup on the cue. Notice the first time Barry has done a cue with elephant ear wrap...and its perfect. Not to mention the 22 year old shaft wood from Gus,s stash

Tissue pls... That screams... PLAY ME!!!

That's a beautiful cue but I have to agree that it looks like one that should see table time. I don't know what is invested in that cue so maybe the venue for table time might be the consideration. It really looks like one hell of a player. If I had acquired that cue I would play with it without a doubt. Whatever you decide to do, congrats on another great cue.

It is your cue and your money. If you decide you don't want to play with the cue don't let anyone guilt you into doing so. I think you should do with the cue what you want to do with it, and if that means not playing with it so be it.

It truely is a beautiful piece of art. Thanks for posting the great pictures.

Steve, you need to match up with Viffer, getting 18-4, and play for a couple of mill, use the cue and you can't lose.

Steve:bow-down::bow-down::bow-down: the Gambler was the NUTZ but this is the BEST Barry Szam ever:D,all looks in harmony with the Materials that he has used. Chalk it up, it build to play with, it will never loose the Value if it is Virgin or Played.
You are some LUCKY Guys in these Days who have recieved Barrys.
One Day I will play with this Cue when I visit your Home my Friend.
Now enjoy it as a Kid in a candy Store:p:p:p:D

22 year old shaft wood, and you're not going to use it? It is your cue, but ........
How much value do you really think it will lose? I really have no clue, perhaps someone has a rule of thumb. I may be really stupid about this, but to own a cue famous for playability, and not use it, would drive me nuts.

well steve i am not sure if you should play with it or not.....its not like you dont have a stable of other barrys to play with anyway.... if it was mine i would atleast have to see how it plays....but i might not make it my daily player as i would want to keep it as nice as i could....however if you were to get a ding in it barry could fix it for you...so should any cue just be left not play with? i think that is up to you....gl mickey

I witnessed this cue come to life with a couple of visits to Barry's shop. Truly fell in love with the design as the pieces were slowly evolving into a cue. The veneer combination, the wood grain, and the choice of the design are really over the top. This has to be one of my top three favorite cues by Barry.

Your pictures really captured the beauty of the cue. Thanks for finally posting this one and enjoy your time on the table with it.

ASk Barry if you should play the cue?
Then make it your everyday cue,all the gus cues were played and that never hurt the value
Enjoy yourself ,you deserve it

Yet another beautiful masterpiece from a true gentleman.

I have a little more insight to your other question than most. Knowing you, knowing who else you would let hit balls with it and knowing the environment. I emphatically say YES, play with that cue. Some people live their entire lives without knowing what a Szamboti plays like. You have the rare opportunity to go to your collection and play with any cue from the true masters of cuemaking.

Live now so you will not have regret later. Enjoy the cue my friend.

Thanks for sharing,
Chris

hey

Obviously I might be biased, but i think this is the nicest Barry cue I have ever seen. My all time favorite Szamboti cue is the Gus Hoppe cue I have, but I cant really decide which i like more. This cue just screams BARRY at his finest.
