Beware EBAY Szamboti 6 pt.....

must have been a typo, it says 1,199 a little bit farther down in the auction.

Yeah. I see the typo. But, according to an email he sent me, they sell for 15 to 20k quite a bit. Lol.

Then again, the seller is Fast Larry.

Replies to emails from someone who is either uninformed, or a scam artist, will not stop them from trying to pass this off as a Szamboti. But, most people who would buy a Szamboti would quickly realize it's not, before buying. Some out there would not be sure. Others would believe him. To help try to protect everyone out there, not just AZers, the item has been reported as being falsely represented. We'll see what that brings.

Got a reply from the seller on the "Szamboti". Not sure but he might have actually thought it was a Szam, from the way he explained it. He said he was going off of what he was told at Valley Forge...............but then again, he say's the cue has been in his family since new and another AZ member said he had the cue in the 90s.:scratchhead:

imo Birk1 is credible and the ebay seller is full of ka-ka.

After Birk 1 mentioned Ingram it jogged my memory to a couple i had and there is no doubt that's what it is

Decent value for the $$$

Are you saying that even thought it's not a Szamboti, it's worth what he's asking?

Here is a funny story...I owned that cue back in the mid 90's

its a Jimmy Ingram - cause I bought it from Jimmy when I live in OKC

geez...AZ is a small world

I was going to guess Ingram or Horn.

I will have to show my wife this post! Someone believes me :)

In all seriousness I bought this cue from Jimmy in 97 or 98 - I still have "real" pics of it I can scan in

LOL, after reading my statement i can see how it might be construed as such.

i meant to say that back in the day an Ingram cue of this ilk would have sold in the 3 to 5 hun range, which, was a good value (imo)

Great post anyway! Threw me for a minute. (more than a minute, LOL)

One last thing. The pred shaft that is advertised is one that I personally took to Jimmy to have matched to the cue. It is worth as much as the cue as it is a 12 splice pred...this is really funny in a sad way

Another scammer..

Here's the e-mail reply that I got from the seller when I told him it was not as advertised..

"thanks for your input i have no clue im no cue expert i was going off of the info given to me by a cue dealer at the expo in valley forge"

Yet his auction states that it's been in his family for years?? He has still not changed the description nor has he removed it from auction.. Screams someone trying to pull a fast one IMHO..

cue should be removed from ebay

The seller still hasn't removed the 6 pointer from ebay, after I emailed him twice, informing him that it is NOT a Szamboti cue.

There is another cue on ebay, that states it is "the LAST cue Gus refinished". I don't know how he can say that when it's not true, buyer beware!

I'm sick of scammers and con artist.

I hope this helps people,
Respectfully,

Thanks Barry. It is sad people pull this kind of crap. Kinda puts a sour note on a fine name and it shouldn't happen. I would love to own one of your cues or your Fathers, not by way of fakery...........

I reported the listing to E-bay that is was fraudulent.
Hopefully they pull the ad .
Plus i contacted the other seller and notified that his ad was factually wrong.
