Maybe QueenB & omgwtf should call Holly @ CSI & see if they can get some advance notice of their schedules. Might make it easier to schedule the match that way.

Another option might be to play on the 17th. Unless one /both of them are in the semi finals of the tourney, they should have time.

Oh yeah, I hope no one backs out cuz they think they're being hussled

I'm just saying. You know how it goes from here. She says she really wants to and the date is fine, and then its not fine and then something else comes up and another thing and its really one person really wants to do it and the other wants to appear that she wants to do it.

I'm bummed.

Kevin

Whew, read all posts so far. Kevin, Borana said she might be ok with the 14th but had to check her schedule. After checking, she decide it would be too hectic, so a later date will work. She is playing on the singles, scotch, and the team event. I beleive Melinda is playing in only the singles.
To all of you who have never heard of Melinda, you must not read much on this forum? I even met her at the APA masters last September in Vegas. I'm not on my home puter, otherwise I would post the pic of her with me and my team. She is very sweet, at least away from the pool tables.
I hope so, I drive up on the 17th, hope they play after I get up there. I would love to sweat this match. My hat is off to both girls, putting up that kind of cash and without any barking. Class acts on both sides.
Lenny, if you go, I can help you set up your equipment if you want. PM me and I can give you my cell number.

Why everybody is pointing fingers at Borana as if she is trying to avoid this match is beyond me. Without hesitation she agreed to play for serious stakes IF she could fit it into her schedule, and she did so without any nonsense and needless negotiation. Scheduling is a problem for both of them because they are there for the tournament and are trying to fit this in at the last minute. They could easily just play the last day or two as things wind down. Instead of Borana skipping part of her tournament, why doesn't Melinda just call in to work sick for a couple of days so they can play as things wind down? It is just as feasible.

Borana is there to play the tournament events which are obviously very important to her, particularly coming off a year where she won an event. She can gamble any time, any where, but she will never again have the chance to play the 2010 BCA Vegas event. This may not be a popular opinion with those that only care about getting to see the match happen right away, but the last thing Borana should do is sacrafice part of her tournament to gamble when that can be done at any time, or better yet, her opponent could just play her when the tournament is over or they are both eliminated.

Contrary to many people's claims, not only is Borana not trying to avoid this match, it appears that she is going out of her way in an attempt to accomodate her opponent just to make this match happen by offering to skip her individual event, something she shouldn't have to or be expected to do. If it is going to interfere with an event (you know, the whole reason they both planned to be there to begin with), or interfere with their job, or force them to play under circumstances where they are not at their best, it would be smarter for both players to just set it up for some other date and time where it works out without unecessary sacrafice. I'm not seeing any reason for finger pointing here when they both have equally valid scheduling conflicts.

Amanda is correct. I never rooted against her either and I was at that tournament. To top it off, several people asked her to autograph their copy of IP that weekend. :)

I will admit one of the players she played I thought was very rude to her, though. :(

You guys are right, that was an unfair generalization. You guys were very nice to her and there were a few others she named that she loved. But in several matches and even sometimes outside of the matches there were a few people that were very rude to her, which is not at all what that tour is usually like. So that was disappointing to me because we are all usually like a family at tour stops. I just didn't expect that because Borana and all the NY girls are super sweet.

? Really ?

I don't know about these women's personal situations, but the vast majority of people on these forums don't make their sole living playing pool.

I know if I asked for vacation days, it's a BIG no-no .... to suddenly "call in to work sick" in conjuntion with those days ... unless I have a doctor's note of some kind.

Let's not propose that someone risks their finacial livelihood here.

beat me to the punch

THIS.

My workplace is in a budget crunch (No! Really?) and so we are incredibly short-staffed right now. I'm grateful I haven't been let go so I'm very careful with what days I take for vacation. They are already balking that I wanted five days off -- and then asked for an extra Friday, which I then exchanged for other days, because I thought I was going to play on that day.

Calling in "sick" after a vacation is very transparent.

I'm not good enough to make a living playing pool so, I apologize, but I am not going to risk my job. The money I earn from my job -- that's a different story. :grin-square:

OMG "" WTF

Tournament Brackets won't be drawn until about 2 days prior to the event and will be posted on CTS as soon as drawn.

BCAPL use CTS (CusSports Tournament System) to run the National Championship. It is the most advanced and sophisticated tournament system as of date. Just by looking at the chart, each player will know how long they will play that day and when their future matches will be, approximately - as long as there isn't a major delay from a match.

Here is the last year's Women's Master Single schdule based on 66 entrants.

Thanks Chris and it would be cool to hang out with you there. I plan on going if the ladies would like me to stream this, just have yet to get the nod. I think it will be fun and enjoy sweating it, I got a good group of people willing to do commentary which is very nice of them.

We will see what happens but the most important thing is for these ladies to play when and where they like regardless if they would like it streamed or not, the ladies letting everyone watch online is a privilege for us all. I think we all need to kind of just relax on this and let them both figure out their schedules and do what they want to do.

He sure does

Chris,

If you and Lenny make the hook up and he busts this out ~ do yourself a big favor and head for the nearest exit.

Wedge,

Care to share that line up with us that avoid Facebook like the plague? I wish I could be there as well. My kitchen pass reads: "Don't be a fool and ask to use this for pool!" :sorry:
