You have my vote!

I am still interested in commentating. I'm not playing many events in Vegas this year. Would be fun to commentate with Chris, I don't think we have ever been in the booth together.

Yes, I am a friend of Borana's but I have also watched or played against Melinda during at least 5 tournaments over the past few years so I am somewhat familiar with her game and of course respect her as a player. Anyone that has ever listened to my commentary knows I am completely professional about it. Either way, I will be there to watch.

I know you well enough that you would give credit where credit is due and that you would be fair to both players. Your experience as a commentator, a player and a presenter uniquely qualify you for this job.

I have commentated with Cristina and can vouch that she is very professional and unbiased in her commentary.

No offence intended, but how can someone find confidence from someone's "vouching" when the person vouching is using an alias? If you were using your real name it could carry some weight, but when you're using "dragon81" instead of your name, at least to me, it seems hollow. I guess this should be in a different thread, but I've always found it funny how confident people were, typing away at their keyboards using an alias. Again please don't feel like I'm persecuting you, I don't even know you. Do I?

How about I vouch for her (Dragon)?? Then my vouching justifies her vouching and a forum search would have given ya Dragon81's real name....state she lives in...professional status...

No offense meant of course :-)

Hell, I like bias! That's why I watch Diane Sawyer and listen to Rush.

That said, I watched Melinda play and listened to her commentary this weekend past. She's funnier than hell...if she worked at it, Joe Rogan would be in trouble, and her game's not bad.

Anybody have a link to a Borana play video? I'm in the dark as far as her playing skills are concerned.

She's well known on AZB and in the pool world. She isn't using an alias to hide - she's just using username on azb just most of the rest of us.

Borana is awsome...she doesn't miss a shot in this interview and vid.

No offense taken nor is intended back, BUT-Most AZ'ers know who I am and if you feel the need to 'search' for me, my full name is Michell Monk. You can find my Bio on the WPBA website, you can look up my blog at michellmonk.blogspot.com and if you are really interested just google me. Michell Monk-yes that is correct Michell without the 'e'
I don't 'hide' behind my 'handle'. I know many of these posters and most have an idea of who I am. I am also in the chats for most pool streams under my username 'mmonk' if that isn't clear enough for you, you can search for posts with my handle, which I tell anyone my name. I have even posted a thread with my name. I don't hide, so next time, either do a little research or don't go on assuming something or someone you know nothing about.
Again, please don't feel like I am persecuting you, I don't even know you.

Well said, Michell.

OK Michell, I apologize! Obviously my post didn't come off as I intended it to. I really did mean it when I started out "No offence intended". What I was trying to point out is that a lot of people post with aliases. I understand why some people use this method. I use "cuesmith" as my handle because I've been working on cues so long I used "cuesmith" as a CB handle, back when CB radios were cool (yeah, if you go back far enough they were. lol) I also sign my posts with my first name (Sherm) only because I make custom cues and my last name is Adamson. I don't want to be confused with Adam cues, a cue manufacturer. I also list my web address and a heck of a lot more than most people do in their profiles. I do so because I try to think before I start punching keys on my keyboard saying whatever pops into my head. I try to make posts that are designed to help people and not just express my ideas. In all sincerity, this is all I was trying to do here. I certainly didn't mean to imply that you were not credible! I just meant to point out that if someone knows _who's_ vouching for someone, it gives more credibility to the "vouch". I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with you as "dragon81" though I do remember the name Michell Monk.
I suppose the last part of my statement is what pushed your buttons, and those of a couple of others (obviously, you have friends here :) ) , and after reading it over, I understand how it sounded to you. I do think there is a problem with people using aliases and then making posts that are rude, high & mighty, and just plain mean. I didn't mean that you fit into this category, just that it was a problem arising from similar actions. I hope you'll understand that I only wanted to point out that when vouching for someone it holds more validity if everyone knows whos doing the vouching. In your case, nothing more! Good luck, I hope you get the gig!

I understand your point, however that is moot in this situation as I stated most know who I am. Every time I do commentary, wherever it is, I tell everyone my az name as well as any other means of getting a hold of me. I have probably close to 700 friends on my FB, just from commentary and pool.
You have a reasoning behind your 'handle' as do most. This account was created long before anyone knew who I was and the last thing I wanted was strangers knowing who I am. Dragon-is because of my obsession with dragons since my conception ( and probably has a little to do with the asian in me) and the 81 is my year of birth.
The only point I was trying to make, was before you accuse someone of hiding behind their username, make sure they are an anonymous source first. And if you don't know the person, try asking...that never hurts, rather than typing a complete post that can be easily misinterpreted.
Unfortunately, I won't be in Vegas, but I look forward to seeing both ladies play this match as I am sure it will be close and exciting.
Glad the air is now clear. Cuesmith-take care and good luck in all you do!

Singles starts on the 15th although you offered the 16-18 in a post separate from the one above. I would like to play on the 15th since that is the first day of singles for both of us and I'd like to have the off-chance, however miniscule, that I can still make it to a match after we play and being this early in the tournament I think we would have a better chance of being able to play both our match and tournament matches.

Alternatively, if you would like to play barbox 8-ball instead to stay in stroke for your three events, I'm down for that. We would have no problems locating an open table for our match or finding an agreeable time since we would be able to see each others' schedules.

There's a wise observation by some ancient long-forgotten nameless philosopher that goes: "He who smelt it, dealt it."

Since the first thing that occurs to you is that we are going to dump and chop up the rail, I am going to surmise that you, personally, have a lot of experience in that exact scenario.

Try not to project your accomplishments, however noble they may be, upon others.

Mr. Macias -- you still doing the carwash thing? ;)

OMG "Happy Camper" WTF

don't get your panties in a bunch. i just don't trust anyone.

"don't get your panties in a bunch"? Her reply to you was very tame.

I don't respect your original comments, nor your continued stubborn insistence that they were okay. Accusing two people of doing something, without any evidence or past history of doing so, just because YOU "don't trust anyone" is beyond lame.

i didn't accuse i just stated what i thought could/would happen.

i also don't care what you respect. you don't agree with me that's fine all i did was state my thoughts. i don't come on here looking for approval.

i don't come on here trying to bag on you because i disagree with you. trust anyone you want to
