Buddy was bored one summer

Buddy was bored one summer. He asked if he could go spend some time with his Uncle Chris in Louisiana. Chris shoots pool.

When Buddy returned home to Springfield, Ohio, he went to the bowling alley, but it was not the right place for him to hone his skills. But his Uncle James has a friend, Chad Bowling, who owns King of Billiards. Bowling has taken Buddy under his wing and introduced him to the billiards world.

Since entering the billiards circuit, Buddy has met John Morra, Dennis Hatch, and Roberto Gomez. And Buddy, who use to play soccer, but has been in billiards for just one year, is sponsored by Jacoby and he uses the company’s sticks.

Buddy practices pool 40 hours a week. He goes to practice right after school and helps out around the pool hall—cleaning up, being a runner, and emptying trash.

He use to think of going to the military after high school, but now he is considering going to college. The University of Akron has a billiards club.

Since Buddy has entered the circuit and playing in competitions all across the region and country, he has made friends in other states and enjoys seeing them at competitions.

He will enter and play tournaments until he turns 18, when by winning tournaments, he can qualify to turn professional.

My wife is from Springfield and I am from Indian Lake. We live in Vegas now, but it sure is nice to hear a story like that from back home. We wish Buddy all the best in his future endeavors. Sounds like a great guy and he has a wonderful future ahead of him.

Springfield, Ohio is where Mosconi ran his 526 in 1954. I think the place was called High Street Billiards. I played in there ten years later in 1964.

Is he being sponsored? If so I hope he takes the money from Kings Of Vapor without using the product. Not so sure that stuff is safe especially for young folks, their bodies are still developing and there is no good reason to inhale vapor laden with chemicals.

If he were my kid, I would still recommend he go the military route. A few years later he can be a 22 year old with a valuable trade and get paid to go to college after that. Whatever he chooses, I hope he's successful.

My hopes are a bit different: I hope the news source can find a editor.

Wonder, instead of wander.

Even mora should have been corrected.

My free advice - go to college or a technical school. Avoid the military. And finally, there is no money in pool. Enjoy it as a hobby but make a living doing something else.

Sad. Unfortunate, ... but likely the best advice - but ahhh - to be young again.

Hah, with over 50,000 posts between us, we have enough typos to write War and Peace.
...admit it, Jen is our posting heroine.

But she confuses me sometimes.....
...a kid wants to go bowling...
...met Bowling....
...who took him to a billiard room...
