Calling all AZBILLIRDS for help.

Thanks again guys. The AZ community is the best!

I posted an update on Joshua in the wanted/for sale section in the "help to get a raffle going" thread if anyone wants to check it out.

I gotta get going for now but I'll try to do another update either there or here in this thread later today.

Trevor

I now have a laptop to use here in Joshua's room so I don't have to run down to the public computer stations.

Joshua has been fighting a fever for over 24 hrs now but it's not getting too terribly high thankfully. He's resting well at the moment. We're waiting to hear about the latest round of blood tests. He did well with the 90 minutes of dialysis yesterday afternoon. We only had to spend one day in the PICU and are now down in the Pediatric In-Patient area on the 3rd floor in a much more comfortable room which is nice since we're not sure how long we're going to be here.

That's about it for now. It's just an hour by hour, day by day process and I'll be here by Joshua's side as long as it takes.

Joshua is showing some slight improvement the last several hours. His fever has just about gone away and his platelet count has improved a little and his urine is clearing up. These are all good signs and we're hoping the trend continues into the next few days. Joshua had to do 2 hrs of dialysis yesterday afternoon but slept through most of it. He'll probably have another 2 hour session this afternoon sometime. All in all his spirits are good and he is enduring everything like a little trooper.

Mom had to get away for a while so she went home for the overnight so it's just me here with Joshua tonight/this morning (it's 4 am right now).

Just to introduce you all to me and Joshua, here's one of my favorite pictures of the two of us.........................

Bless you all as I definitely feel blessed lately with all the love and support we're recieving.

Joshua is so cute. You can see the love in both your eyes. I am so sorry you are having to go through this.

I just sent a C-note via PayPal to that e-mail address on the first page of this thread.

God bless your family. I will pray that you all get through this trying time.

Man, he sure is cute. Look at those little cheeks. It makes me want to hug him. :p

Amen to that Jenny... amen to that!

Hope you can be bringing him home soon Trevor. Edit: I just read your post and those signs sound, to this laymen, like very good omens. Fever going down, blood and urine getting cleared gradually of poisens. That's major and cool! and reason for very positive hopes and plans. Hold on to those good signs when you get tired and then log on to az for more support.

Thanks for the updates!

Things do sound like they are improving! Please keep us updated on Joshua's progress as time goes on. My paypal was sent a few minutes ago. Not as much as I would have liked but I suppose every little bit helps.

Take Care,
Hu

Jimmy Matz vs Jimmy Fusco DVD

I have the Jimmy Matz vs Jimmy Fusco DVD (Copied from VHS so the quality is not great) from the early 1990's. The match was shot at Suzie Cue's in Reading PA. Best of 3 races to 9 in 9 Ball. As far as I know this is the only tape of Jimmy Matz in existance. I have made copies for Jay Helfert, Jimmy Fusco and Bob Maidhof among other AZ'ers.

I will make copies for any AZ'er that puts $25 into Trevors Paypal. I will pay shipping. Let me know by noon on Sunday and I will make the DVD copies next week and send. Please PM me with a copy of your paid Paypal receipt to Trevor

Thanks

Joshua is finally showing some signs of real improvement!

His platelet count is improving, his kidney function results are improving, he ate his first significant amount of food in over a week last night (some crackers, apple sauce and 1/2 a jelly sandwich) and his demeanor and energy has made a marked improvement. He had his best nights sleep overnight as well.

I'm finally feeling some hope that I'll have my little guy back to normal soon, and that's a very good feeling.

This is the start of our 9th day here at the hospital and with any luck and continued improvement we're hoping to be back at home no later than middle/late next week.

Many, many thanks to all of you that have had Joshua in your thoughts/prayers and for the amazing outpouring of donations. It has helped make a very stressful time so much more less stressful.

Bless you all.

Joshua's improvement is continuing.

His platelet count has doubled the last 2 rounds of tests on Sat., which is a very good sign. The doctors have been impressed enough with his improvement that he didn't have to do dialysis on Sat. and they want to see if the improvement continues at the current pace even w/o dialysis or any blood transfusions so today (Sunday) will tell us a LOT about Joshua's road to recovery.

I got away from the hospital for the first time in 9 days Sat. evening and took my 2 older H.S. aged sons to a movie and out for a bite to eat. I had really begun to miss having any quality time with my older sons and just needed a break from this hospital for a few hours anyway.

It's almost 3 am right now and after I got my cup of coffee down in the hospital cafeterium and took a short walk outside to sit and have a smoke I began reflecting on life in general and what is most important to me and why. Of course family is first and foremost and has pretty much always been with me. In regards to life outside of family, I believe pool is probably the 2nd most important thing in my life because of the time I spend doing it and doing things related to it (ie. here on the forums, my dabble in cue repair recently, etc.). Pool/billiards even comes in ahead of my job/career.

The basis of most of my friendships is pool related and when the going got tough for me in life (this latest situation with my son) it was my relationship with pool that has helped me the 2nd most behind family.

So I find myself wishing I could find a job that had some kind of connection with pool/billiards that allowed me ample time to spend with my family and paid well enough to be able to at least live comfortably. I've never been interested in making a bunch of $$$, it's just never been that important to me. So here I sit @ 3am in the morning at a computer station in a hospital racking my brain on how I could possibly get to that perfect place, my "happy place". I don't have the answer yet ............ but I'm going to continue to try and think of a way to get there. Wish me luck.

And if by some miracle someone close enough to me (within an hour or so of my hometown) has any job offers that are pool related, PM me.

Thanks for letting me sit here and do a little bit of reflection on life and share it with you all and a big THANK YOU again to the AZ family in general for all the help my family has recieved this last week.

Trevor

I"m grateful for being able to be part of a team that came together to get the job done. I know the job ain't done till it's done but it sure looks good now and 'we' made it through the crisis. Sorry I don't have the juice to be able to conjure up a job for you. :groucho:

Trevor, you're a helluva Dad and Joshua is fortunate to have you for a father. Maybe we all helped out a little but YOU and your wife brought him through this with your courage and fortitude. Playing pool will seem like a piece of cake after this experience.

As far as the job goes, I have some advice for you and I know you can do it too. Create your own job! Maybe set up a small cue repair shop at a local poolroom and also sell pool related products. Start small and keep your regular job. When you get it going good then you can consider making it a full time job. This is only one suggestion. There are many other things you can do as well. Think about it. Good luck Trevor. I really admire your courage throughout this ordeal.
