Just wanted to give a shout out of congrats to Fran, an old CCB friend, for the honor she's been awarded by the BCA. Fran has been a good friend to me and I know the honor was earned. She's done a lot for pool.

Check out these players in the magazine article from 1982, from left to right. The captions read as follow: "WPBA President Fran Crimi," "The Immortal Jean Balukas--Always the One to Beat," and "Lori Shampo--An Up-and-Coming Super Star." As an aside, Lori Shampo passed away sometime ago.

Fran Crimi is a cutie pie! Look at those blond locks of curly hair! :p

Check out this YouTube link of Charlie Rose. Fast forward it past the Governor of North Carolina interview to 12:48. There's a cool interview with Fran Crimi, Steve Mizerak, Jean Baluks, and Mike Sigel. What a classick.

It's a good interview, and it captures the personalities of all four players: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7723968570429466320&q=billiards+duration:long&pr=goog-sl

I actually remember seeing this when it came on the air. It was fun watching it again, seeing Mizerak in full bloom. Man, could he ever talk, as can Sigel. Sigel talks about "The Color of Money." :p

Fran Crimi gets a few words in too! :grin-square: It is also interesting to hear Jean Balukas speak about the sport of pool. Notice Jean is the only one of the four not holding a pool cue. Hmm....

It was interesting to hear Sigel and Mizerak yack it up. Steve Mizerak's high run in straight pool is 420, and Sigel's is 350.

There is a lot of good pool tips in this interview to improve your game too! :)

Wow, I really enjoyed watching that again!

Beautiful GC table provided by Blatt's Billiards. Good going, Jean!

Sigel dominates the conversation. LOL!

I just want to add my congratulations to Fran Crimi for the Presidents Award. I cannot think of anyone else who is so deserving of the honor. Fran works more hours each week for free in order to improve the game than most folks work for pay. Fran, thanks for all that you do!

Proud to say I've known Fran since 1976, having met her when we were both playing in the ACUI Collegiate Straight Pool Championsips. She's as dedicated to our sport as anyone on the planet, and is deserving of this recognition and our gratitude.

I was fortunate enough to meet Fran for the first time, and play some pool with her, at the US Open this past year. Fran came to the CCB tournament at QMasters on Friday morning as well as our annual dinner on Thursday evening. She is everything I thought she'd be and more!

Congratulations Fran on a well deserved honor!

congratulations to Fran. I've got nothing but respect for someone who devotes themselves to the game like she has.

What a nice Christmas present for her!

I knew Fran back in the early 80s. Haven't seen her in 20+ years. I'm glad she's doing well. She was always nice to me.

As most have alreadey said, Fran is very deserving of this honor. I have had several situations with Fran - and she has always been fair and concerned. She really is a hard working gal!

She has really put her heart into the WPA since being appointed a couple of years ago. She is working for a better world of pool for all of us.

Congratulations.

Fran Crimi - a Woman of Substance and a class act.
A fully deserved accolade. We don't see enough of each other.
Hope to catch up with you in 2009.

I wish she would post here on AZB, but you have to admire her loyalty to CCB.
