Hi Kamui fans. The time has come for all of us to recognize what is a fake Kamui and what is an Authentic Kamui.

We are changing our "look" NOT formula to make sure that YOU, the player and installer is getting a GENUINE Kamui tip.

Please study the image below and share with all of your friends. The fake Kamui tips will noticeably not perform like a Kamui tip. But before you get yours installed be sure it is the real thing!

Last week I had a customer who brought in one of your tips for installation. It was like the one on the left in the photo, I don't know where he got it except that he bought on line. But, it did not look like the second or third tips in the photo there was no serial numbers on the tip, also he said the tip cost him $22 shipped.

Oh and by the way the tip I am talking about was Soft, are they also marked like the Mediums in the photo's.

I will try and find out who sold him the tip and let you know.

I'm surprised the counterfeiters actually used the Kamui name, spelled correctly! I was figgerin' they'd use "Kaplui", "Makui", "Kumai", "Kimau", or something like that -- in the same vein as "POINOS" Poison copies, or "PREOAIDR" Predator copies:

Alas, I hope this one gets nipped in the bud before too many people get ripped off.

Very sad.

Thanks for the info! So we can rest assured that we are getting the real thing, before it is in hand, is there perhaps a list of authorized dealers/installers somewhere?

Thank you for the comment Corey, I do not publicly post all of my dealers as that becomes a convoluted disaster in itself... I do however allow a player to give me their information and address so I can find their closest Authorized installer based on Google maps. ;-) http://www.KamuiTips.com/contact/

I recently bought a SS kamui black tip from Seyberts. I haven't put it on yet and I will check it when i get home. I would be surprised though if I got a bad one from them.

It will mushroom and play bad

Ah, so it will be like the Brown SS then?

Just kidding.

No I'm not.

Sorry, I seem to be having a problem with the other inner voices in my head today.
I'm wondering how many, if any will be checking EBay to see if they can catch any of the counterfeit ones.

For further education on the evolution of the Kamui tips
1. At a brief time we did have black Kamui tips without the foil stamp. 2008-2009 But all Blacks had a unique serial number.
2. In August of 2009 we had a threat of counterfeit so we created the current "foil stamped" look.
With ALL of my authorized Kamui installers I RECALLED all the old look tips(non-foil stamped) and replaced with foil stamped. (I have a lot of the old ones)(NO MS)

RULE OF THUMB: Buy the Original or Black with a foil stamp, THEN look for the serial number pushed into the face.
The counterfeiters can not keep up with us as we can change the look of the Kamui tip at any moments notice. If it does not have a foil stamp you run a high risk that it could have been sourced out of a counterfeiter.

We do this to ensure that you get the real thing.

This chart below was made to show in 2009 what the new look is, what we know now. The HOLOGRAM will come out end of August.

Are holograms and glue totally compatible?

Of course, since I am a distributor, I don't have to worry if mine are real ;-)

This eBay seller is not an Authorized Kamui Seller or Installer. He has been sourcing them from other countries. When you get the tips, please PM me so we can see if they are legit.

I jsut bought these from ebay, they appear to be the older ones, but authentic.

Love Kamui!!

And I looked at all the Kamui tips on ebay and did not find any fakes! (based in the photos show, who knows what you will get)

Wow someone is up early!

I'm not gonna order Kamui stuff off the interwebs anymore. I'm just gonna buy it from the installer. Might cost a dollar more, but I am supporting local business. ANd guarenteeing not to get a fake.

I think it is interesting the op noted the counterfeiters "can't keep up." Perhaps true, perhaps not. If there is enough money in it, counterfeiters can keep up with anything. Google superdollar -- it's a fake and the only way to tell the difference from the real thing is that it is better quality. Point is, if you can do it, they can too. Or, maybe they could even make a preemptive "fake" change ahead of the real manufactures. You get the point.

Anyway, I like the Kamui rep, just not sure wy he'd say something he'd have no idea of knowing is true or not. Maybe to put you at ease so you KNOW you're not buying a fake (yet you can never know that).

Anyway, I hope this works out good for all, nobody like to get fakes. BTW, there are superdollars in circulation, perhaps for good. You may have one in your pocket or bank account. But don't worry, they spend the same.

One thing about buying online at huge discounts. If it seems too good to be true, usually it is, so beware. I have found this to be true with many things, not just cue tips.

I had a Kamui tip installed on Cue last evening... it played OK, But it was like chalking a piece of cardboard. It was like the leather had no life.

Any trouble & that tip will be in the garbage
