Couldn't find another thread about it, so sorry if it's already posted...

Darren "Dynamite" Appleton won the 10-ball division undefeated, and in the final he won 7-1. Total score after his 7 matches, impressive 49 - 24 with a 7-1 in the final and 7-2 in the semifinal.

It's SO NICE to see some Europeans winning those American Championships, don't you all agree? :D :D :D :D :D (Wasn't it the only European in the field too??? ;)

Now, if I could only find some information about who won that Turning Stone event, and where he's from... Atleast that must have been an American, don't you think?

Almost First(haha)....Daz is ridiculous on a bar table but then again so were a bunch of people in the field. Great win. He's going very strong in the 9 ball right now as well. Wonder does he play jam up 8 ball too? We'll see..
 
I watched all his matches on Tuesday and he was Spot-On most of the time, with only a few hic-cups ... Couldn't stay for the finals today, but knew they would be a barn-burner. Congratulations Daz !!!
 
I had to leave during his match with Mark Tadd and thought that Mark had him beat. He played great though...Leave the computer that is.

Since he was ranked nr 1 in the World in the UK 8-ball version of the game, for 6 consecutive years, I bet he does :cool:

For those who don't know, UK 8-ball is played on bar-box tables with snooker-cut pockets, which makes regular bar-boxes look like jokes.

UK 8-ball is mostly played in UK, Australia and France, and is often called "reds and yellows" or "blackball".

I heard Darren talking about this in the booth today. The pockets are like snooker pockets and the balls are 1 3/4 inches. He said the rules are pretty close to the same with it being open after the break. The difference is the balls are just two different colors ( no numbers ) and if you foul your opponent gets two shots, so you could break balls up then run out. He said it was easier.

You can take your stupid a** back to Stavanger and act like a fool to your friends there. I saw Darren at the DCC, he shot great and he was treated in America like a champion. Dignity and respect are qualities easily identified but not mutually shared.

This statement is hillarious. Not because of the verbal abuse but because I have no idea where Stavanger is and it makes the whole thing sound funny.

The funny thing is that I have the paypal-address with Steffenson also, so now I got paid twice for the same bet!

I've learned a thing or two from those Kevin Trudeau books, that's for sure :thumbup:

Johnny,

Although it seems like just another country to people living in a country, Europe is a continent. That isn't enough to get pool victories so they rake in all of the surrounding islands too like England so they can claim wins. :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

I've always figured if people were going to fudge things a bit, the Philippines are practically part of the US!

How is the "US" doing now? :grin: :grin: :grin:

It's great to see Daz turning his talents to the US games with great success. I'm hardly surprised that he would play impressively on the smaller tables having also come from a blackball background.

The woofing is all a bit of fun. I'm sure Roy and others like myself wouldn't enjoy it so much if it wasn't such a satisfying achievement. i.e. We've a healthy respect for how difficult it is to compete at the highest levels of US pool.

Well, Spain ruled Philippines for 350 years while USA only were there for like 50 years, so I would say that the Filipinos have more in common with Europeans than Americans, so they are practically a part of Europe ;)

How is Europe doing now? :D :p

Exactly. The woofing is all a bit of fun. I admire American poolplayers almost as much as Europeans :)

Unfortunately some people doesn't understand that, but that's ok. That makes me laugh even more :D
