Fatboy Ten Ball Invitational

Just a heads up on this upcoming event at DCC. Looks like it will be the best one yet! The entry fee is $1,000 with $10,000 in added money. Only sixteen players, single elimination, race to fifteen. First will pay $12,000, second $7,000 and third-fourth $3,500.

Players entered already include: Mika, Ralf, Johnny, Dechaine, Alex, Shane, Darren, Lee Vann, Rodney (defending champ), Big D (Dennis H.), Corey, World Ten Ball champ Huidji See, Stevie Moore, Brandon Shuff and Dennis Orcollo. Warren Kiamco has filled our final spot.

Earl Strickland or Efren for the final spot.

Great choices Mikey. I think Efren should get first shot at the last spot, being that he won it year before last. Since there are only three past champs, and two of them are already in, it only seems right that Bata gets in.

After him, there are a lot of guys I would like to see in. Karl Boyes, Niels, Earl. I also like watching Bartram play, he has some king kong level heart.

I say leave one spot open for a public choice. If that player chooses not to play, the next person has the option. Just an idea...kinda messes up the idea of an invitational.

Jay I am biased and would like some young blood in there to fight.

I suggest,

Mike Davis
Brandon Shuff

both local Mid-Atlantic players! We were close to bringing it home when Brandon took 2nd and I would like to see another local UNDERDOG get a
shot!

Also, like to see Ryan McCreesh get a shot at it! He is barking up a storm lately and may attend this year given his new backer!!!!

Ryan is really emotional and flips out on occassion but deserving none the less. Josh Brothers is another good one!!!!

That's a pretty good idea.

Maybe there should be an AZBilliards poll to pick a player, but in order to actually vote you must pay $100 toward the entry fee of $1,000. You of course have piece of the player's action.

Is Schmitty or Harriman still playing pool?

What about "EASY MONEY" Ronnie Alcano?

and Jung-Lin Chang. (haven't seen him play yet but is a money leader this year)
and Raj Hundal. He's been playing better than ever.

How about John "Hennessee" PInegar? Fifth in the 2011 US Open 10 ball event and he played some of the best 10-ball I've ever witnessed at the 2010 Super Billiards Expo event, although he finished second behind Van Boening. Another possibility would be Thorsten Hohmann.

Alex or Efren

Alex is already in! As you can see, we are fast running out of spots and that's a good thing. I'm waiting to hear back from Francisco and Dennis Orcullo, both of whom should be playing again this year. That leaves one opening for Efren or ?. Efren is my first choice if he wants to play.

Next year there is a possibility that this event (which is becoming more popular every year) will be expanded to 32 players. There are a lot of good players who will get shut out this year. I've already crunched the numbers with Greg and a 32 player field would require one extra day and the payouts would be as follows: First $15,000, second $9,000, third-fourth $5,000, fifth-eighth $2,000.

In order of my personal preference

Efren Reyes
Carlo Biado (New Blood)
Any Taiwanese Player (again new competition)
Any other jaw-dropping, awe-inspiring Philipino

Beyond that, it doesn't really matter.

i think it would b kool if u could do a young up and coming player ... save 1 spot for sum1 like that each year... n really give them a chance to get up there with the big boys
