Edwin Reyes aka Bandido shot dead

I am just speechless. Pool has lost a great man who cared deeply for the future of the game. Rest in peace, my friend.

"We are diminished." A trite set of words that are often said at a time like this. However AZB, the pool world, and even the world has just suffered a very real loss.

Edwin was a very special person. A great cue maker, a great player's advocate, a great human being. To wake up in the wee hours of the morning and find him assassinated leaves me with a sick and empty feeling. All I can do is echo many other people's words, rest in peace my friend you will be greatly missed by far more people than can be imagined.

My god! I hope they find who did this and shoot him like a rat. Edwin was a genius and a master artisan. Somebody better pay for this.

What horrible news! My thoughts are with all his friends and family.:(
 
i wish i still had the pm's mr reyes sent me about 4 or 5 years ago,
right when i first started building cues and participating on forums like az and easy pool tutor. that was back when i didn't even know who he was.

he noticed that i was in cincinnati, near sherm adamson,
sherm spent sometime with mr reyes when he went to the phillipines

mr reyes pm'ed me to offer any assistance and advice he could and even invited me to come see him and offered many words of encouragement to me
wished i could have gone to see him

seemed to be a very generous and caring person
what a shame
 
This is shocking! I enjoyed reading his posts. He was a great contibutor to this forum. We always get the latest news from the Phil thru him. He will be miss. :frown:

What a senseless act. Edwin was such an intelligent and articulte positive contributor to the forum, I always enjoyed his posts. I inquired about his cues a couple of years as I was thinking of buying one. He returned prices for me promptly and very courteously.

He will be missed a lot.
 
I'm in a state of shock right now. Edwin was my friend. He had many friends throughout the pool community. I have my own private thoughts which I cannot share on here. But I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels the way I do.

I agree completely with you and all I can say is that person has a big bullseye on his back right now. He will always be wondering "is today the day???"
 
A very genuine and very skilled guy who will be missed in a lot of ways by a lot of people. Deepest symapthies to his family and friends.

As regards the perpetrator(s) of this cowardly act, may justice be done and be seen to be done.
 
A true artist and genuinely good man has been lost. My deepest condolences to his family and friends, and the many communities that will miss him. May his spirit live on through his artistic works and the fond memories of those who knew him well.

Shocking and sad. Edwin seemed like such a passionate, yet peaceful man. The words here from his friends back that up.

My sincerest condolences to his family and friends. May you find peace and may he rest in peace.

I only knew the man through his contributions here but I can say he seemed to be a genuine person who deeply cared about the future of pool. He was a valuable member of our community here that will be missed.

This is truly a shame, I sincerely hope the perpetrator(s) of this tragedy are brought to justice.
 
The whole billiard industry in my country is in lonely feeling right now,
Edwin Reyes is one big contributor, an artist when it comes in billiards here..
I want to extend my sincere condolence to his family and to all who know this great and genius cuemaker.....
