Favorite Pool Room Food...

Since Juicy Girl just started a thread on favorite beers, how about one on food. When you're spending the day, or night, at your friendly neighborhood pool room, what's your favorite food?
Mine is the Hustler Club. It's just like a club sandwich, only different. They use grilled Angus beef for the meat. :)

The food at my current poolroom HIGH-POCKETS in Memphis has excellent food, truly great food.

I love the grilled chicken or the rib-eye dinners.

I use to frequent a pool room that had the best pizza ever! They called it Mean Jean's pizza(WWE announcer). Had a picture of him on the box.

Decatur, Illinois....downtown, late 70's.

Man named Jerry owned the action room...he took out the front four tables
and leased the space to four women for food catering...it became the most
popular lunch spot in Decatur.

These women weren't fancy chefs...they gave you food your mother or aunt
would serve you...a small menu and two specials every week day...best chicken
and biscuits I ever had.

This place was the home room of Bill Hawkins, the man who finally beat Willie
Hoppe's American record of 18 in a tournament...when I asked him about it,
all he could talk about was missing #20 by a whisker.
God rest you, Hawk

Our local places still struggle with figuring out how to make decent food.

Supposedly hard times is known for their chili, I tried it... it was awful, a bowl of dirt-flavored overcooked meat swimming in 4 inches of grease, without a single other food item.

Fast eddies makes a decent pizza, that's about it.

I usually get to Felt in Englewood,Co about 10 Am on Saturday and start off with coffee and French toast. Then around 2 PM or so I have Chicken tenders with french fries. They have very good food and a large selection on the menu.I have also had the Nachos and pizza, both very good.
And the home made chocolate chip cookies are excellent.

TJ's Bowling and Billiards is my hang out lately and they have a butterfly shrimp basket that will knock your socks off.
And hey I live in Nebraska now so I have to eat something corn related its state law.

You are good. The last sentence in your post is corny enough.
Butterfly shrimp is the stone cold nuts-yum.

After 20 years living in Nebraska I will back you up on the state law thing.

There I go hitch hiking again;)

I try to eat before I get to the pool hall. But league nights I usually head straight from work so I would have to say, the grilled chicken wrap and fries at Metro are good. A guy on my team ordered up some cheeseburger one night and that thing not only looked awesome but smelt great too. I almost took a bite while he was shooting lol

Lucky that our room has a kitchen. Nothing overly fancy but great BLTs and Denvers etc. Probably the best cheese burgers I have had. Home made patties.

Monday night BCA, I usually go doen to watch and have a few and sometimes I get lucky and spare in. They have a Monday night pool players breakfast.

2 thick slices of ham, 2 sausages, 3 strips of bacon, 3 eggs and hash browns with toast. You have to be real hungry to woof one of those down. I came up a bit short last night but the doggies got ham when I got home. 10 bucks for that. Pretty reasonable.

Peabody's has the most Amazing

Wings

Monday it's half pound burgers for $2.

Last is their pizza, it's out of this world. People actually order it as take out everyday. It's freaking amazing, I have no idea how they do it.

All that said never ask for a Cuban sandwich, it's a total rip-off.

Our local room has some pretty good Mac N' Cheese topped with bacon and jalapenos. They also have some of the best hot wings in town. Their Inferno Wings pack a helluva punch, but without sacrificing flavor. They hand pack the patties for their burgers, which are also pretty good and the best deal on the menu at $7 for a cheeseburger with fries or pasta salad. They're also known for deep-frying just about anything, from mushrooms to Reese's peanut butter cups.

Chili Dogs from City Billiards Aiken SC circa 1989... I still have the recipe somewhere around here.
