Hello Mr. Wilson,
Nice of you to share this with us. Those were the days. I bet this brought back a lot of good memories! You are the man!
I survived the Hurricane down here. Thank God.
Many Regards,
Lock N Load.

OK I will jump in:smile:

Me 1983 holding the chain saw and my old man to the right of me.

The next day the four of us headed down to Denver and played in nine ball tourney at a now closed pool room.
If memory serves me correctly it was called "The Velvet Rail". I think it was located on Tennyson street.

Wow, Dave, I didn't know you used to live in Phoenix! Have our paths ever crossed? I moved away from here at the beginning of 1986 and didn't return until late 1994. I used to occasionally visit the original Golden 8-Ball before leaving here, but the Golden 8-Ball where that picture was taken would've been the newer one, right? Both were owned by David Lee, and I still see him quite frequently as he comes into BullShooters where I have my pro shop.

I also played when it was up on Thomas Ave & Black Canyon before they moved to Indian School and 27th Ave. but yes, this would have been at the new loc.

I really can't be sure but David and Scott made that move in 87 IIRC.

Hey, Mr. W. Feeling a bit nostalgic are we? Missing the good old days?
Well, be careful. The last time I got into a reminiscing funk, I called up my third wife and asked if I could come over. She says sure, and that I should bring some wine. Her favorite, of course, was Chateau de Boonesfarm.
When I show up at her place, I'm met at the door by a couple of sheriff's deputies, and promptly arrested for non-support. So much for trippin' down memory lane.

With any luck....there won't be a "third" wife :) and...I believe the saying goes....you can't get blood from a turnip.

This would probably explain the lack of spousal lineage. ;)

Hey I love that song but the movie gave me the willies!

I had the same thought, Jim! LOL :D BTW, did you know there was a much more famous Velvet Rail poolroom, in MI? Bigtime players room back in the day (seems like about the same "day" as in your picture! LOL).

No Scott I did know there was another VR. The room in Denver was my first real poolhall. Right after I discovered it the darn thing went belly up
if you can imagine that:eek:
