Rest in peace Bill

Although I never met Bill in person, we spent many an hour on the phone laughing & rehashing pool's "good ol' days" & tossed plenty of emails back & forth. Bill was one of the good ones...RIP, my friend. You will be missed...
This is Bill they way I remember him from late 70's, early 80's at the King & I and around Oak Park and Chicago. Rip Bill.

Anyone know anything about Bill Stack these days? I know him and Bill ran around together.

bill was a good friend, in the last 2 days I have had 2 friends die. My condolences to is family. I wasnt aware he was sick.

RIP Hemicuda...condolences from my family to his loved ones and billiard family.

You're welcome, JAM. The picture was $Bill's favorite. Give me a call when you get a chance.

To DRW, Bill Stack is on Facebook & is doing well. $Bill hooked us up about a month or so ago. In fact, he is the one who gave me the sad news that $Bill had passed away.

It's good to see how much he was appreciated here, on Onepocket.org & on Facebook. These last few years his health was not so good & he didn't get out as much as he used to so the internet became his link to the world that he loved so much - the pool world. My condolences to all his family & his many friends...

Terrible news. RIP Bill.

<edit : I hope someone who was close to Bill will add his name to the AZ Hall of Fame. With the quality of his posts over the years, and the contributions to the local history stories, I think he deserves the honour>

Agreed, and I extend my condolences to Bill's family.

Hemi was one of the better posters to ever frequent these hallowed halls, and he deserves to be remembered.

RIP $Bill. Your posts always caught my attention for ther content. You will be missed. Condolences to his loved ones.

I couldn't stop thinking about Bill today as i was working and had quite a few good memories rush over me. Sad, but good.
Most pool halls are the same in that there is a lot of down time that needs to be filled without much pool being played. Storytelling is a big way to do it. And you wanna talk about a world class story teller, he spun em' pretty voraciously and with much enthusiasm. His volume raising and physical delivery were a thing of beauty. He really enjoyed his craft. Being a VERY strong physical presence made it all that much more riveting once he was in full swing. His timely use of the stutter for emphasis was truly magnificent. And talk about a vocabulary. Wow! He would quote Aesop or Shakespeare just as easily and passionately as he would make Lenny Bruce blush. I wish I had written down some of his stories because I'm sure I don't have all of the details straight. Bill Stack should know all of them by heart. It would be great to get him on tape.
Anyways. Was really sad today and couldn't help but feel bad for Trudy and Ray. May God bless them and Bill.

Sad, sad news. AZB lost a good one.

I see that he produced a youtube video of his deceased classmates of 1966. Sad to think that someone will add him to the video.

My dad just called me to say Bill Bell, better known as $Bill or by his AZ handle 'Hemicudas', passed away last night (June 21st) in his sleep. Bill was definitely one of the good guys and will be missed. My condolences go out to his family.

Very, very sad.

Bill didn't know it, but he helped me out at a pool tournament several years back.

It was 1pocket and he was in the stands with another guy, sweating my match. At one point I just went into total brain lock and was staring at the table with absolutely no clue what to do. And then, I hear a whisper in the stands. It was Bill talking to his buddy, "You kick at this, don't you?" Of course he was right.

Thanks, Bill. May you rest in peace.
