Fight at Hardtimes in Sacramento?

That's very good news Mike! Chuck is a great guy, and this is a terrible thing to have happen to him at this stage in his life. Please give him my best wishes for a speedy recovery. Perhaps he'll be well enough for visitors by the time I get to Sacramento in a couple of weeks. If so, we'll go see him! :D

Just a little update for all the nice people that have wished Chuck well;

He has been improving, slowly but surely. He improved enough that the Drs. were able to perform the surgery on his legs. They, I'm not sure of both, had have rods placed in them to hold the bones in place. He is still in ICU and is not ready, by a long way, to have any visitors. He is responsive to voices, but he hasn't been able to talk yet. I'll post info as I find out anything new. The worst part is over, that for sure.

I don't know Chuck but I can/will contribute to to his recovery/rehabilitation with a $ contribution if that would help.

I also do not know Chuck, but if it were necessary, and someone would start a recovery/rehab contribution fund, I would be honored to donate.

Chuck,
A lot of people have you in their thoughts and prayers.
Get well soon.

Thanks Mike. This condition is known as semi comatose. He is not talking or opening his eyes and looking around yet. How well he recovers is going to be a long term process.

When he can open his eyes and communicate is when they will move him out of ICU and let visitors in to see him. That's when I plan to go up there.

Please continue to give us regular updates. I don't want to bother Mike and Karen too much.

I don't think any contributions are needed, he is well taken care of... If anyone wants to do something, a get well card sent to Hard Times would probably make him feel better than anything else.

Although for those that know Chuck, he does like the action and cash.

Can someone please post an address where Chuck is currently?

According to Keith McCready, after I told him about this thread, Chuck is a "good friend" of his, and he would like to send Chuck a card to let him know he wishes him a speedy recovery and that he is in Keith's prayers.

Keith said from Chuck's ex-football days that he is "strong as a bull" and hopefully he can get through this. :)

I play at The Jointed Cue at least 5 days a week (4-6 hrs.) and Tournament nights ... Dave Stonier runs the "tightest ship" in the Pool business and does not even allow problems to get started ... I definitely feel much safer there, day or night, than at Hard Times, day or night ...

they make the drugs down town by the joint and use them up by hardtimes, ;)

seriously i stopped going into hardtimes when it was great american and started hanging out at the joint back then because it was a much better spot, there was too much blow at great american, i'm not knocking chuck because this was before he owned the place, i havent been back. i sure do hope he is ok, this whole thing pisse$ me off-more than i can expane,

I played at least 3 nights a week at Great American in the 80's, mostly the Tournaments, and never experienced any problems with gangs or out of control drunks ... Times changed, so I wandered over to the "Joint" and have been there ever since ...
