Any word if this tour will happen before the end of the year??
I don't want to say, "I told you so," but I just did.

Yep, and sad it worked out that way....
Many of us offered time, advice, and help.....there were a number of big, unanswered questions up front.....much of AZ was quick to offer advice and experience to make sure it was a success.....if I remember right, there was supposed to be a question/answer session that never happened.....
Almost all of AZ was in favor and wanted it to come off like gangbusters, but the deliberate skating of certain important items made the end result fairly obvious up front.....
Hell the whole world said it
If not mistaken, Scott Smith was on payroll and he "walked away" after a few days, they were trying to tell him how to run a tournament![]()
Scott did not "walk away". He was not a tournament director, he was the MC. Too bad the facts get twisted. The isssues were not the way the tournament was run. It was the advertised money.
There will be no Galveston World Classic by Taylor Road Production.

Why does this make you feel good Jay? It's certainly not a good thing for pool. OH...wait , I get it, your feelings were hurt when they didn't seek out your sage advice.
I would think that someone that loves pool and wants to see it become more successful would be saddened by this tournament not continuing. I don't know what the total was they paid out, I'm guessing around $100k. But apparently, Jay, you feel good about it because you felt slighted in some way. Get your ego in check.
Punter, I'm gonna go to bat for Jay on this one, mind you, I KNOW where your coming from, I worked for the BCA offices when they made their move to Colorado Springs from Iowa. When hired, was thinking I could help the sport, SURPRISE, business as usual for the BCA board of directors and so it is today. Me as a player and Jay as a promoter have been disillousioned by what's transpired over the last 30 years when in comes to ANOTHER POOL TOURNAMENT (with KT business plan but less $$) but the love of the game/sport has kept us on task and won't let us go. We've seen this scenario SOOOO many times there's a Knee Jerk Reaction....IT AIN'T GONNA WORK. Having owned my own room and designed and help build out two others in CO (2 still open) I feel your discust in your thread reply, basically our world sucks allot of the time, yet we have one of the worlds greatest games but society won't let us IN. Yeah Jay does promote a little too much at times but don't we all, we are who we are, and Jay has stuck/supported/created venues for our game that not many can or have done, so let it rest, life moves on. Jays comments were more "here we go again" when in fact he KNOWS how to spend that money better and improve conditions for the PLAYERS and thats where his attitude gets tweaked, so does mine.
