OK, so last night I show up for 9-ball league night at the local pool room. The owner tells me the local paper is looking for a local pool player to feature in a story and an on-line video. For some reason, I was recommended.
I was hungover, I forgot my cue, etc. But I'll be in Asia next week so I said "let's do this now."
He recorded the 12 games I played. There were no set-up shots and no do-overs. All you see is me playing league matches. I had 2 B&R's, 2 short racks, and won 9-3.
I wish he would have at least got a b&r from beginning to end, but its edited down. And the best shot of the night was edited out. He interviewed me before & after the match and added it as a voice over.

PS: the guy in the blue polo playing or sitting next to me in a few shots is AZ'er "Roger Illinois."
Yeah, I think I told you to hit Billiards on Main when you said you were headed that way....do I get a commission? The fact that you awed a waitress with your playing ability and a tourney win I find a bit hard to believe, and I can't see you going to a nice dinner with the shoes I've seen you wearlol.
All kidding aside, BoM is a great room, and Mark (the owner) is top notch. Like I said, a must stop for me if I'm remotely close to Galesburg. BTW, that Jacoby that I have a link to pics for in my sig.....came from Mark at BoM. He ripped me off, of course, but I still like it.
Hey Cuaba, great video. I look forward to seeing you in Bangkok in a couple of weeks. We will both be in one of the national 9 ball ranking tournaments otherwise you can fine me at Hustlers. Toy is playing 8 ball with the national team and will be going to Vietnam for the Asian indoor games end October.
Cheers,
Nice video Brad:wink: Way to shut out the distractions i was two tables away and heard the camera going off 100 shots a second:grin: They couldnt have got a better person way to go!!
I'd love to have access to all of the footage and be able to edit it myself. I could make it look like I'm supposed to beat Efren.
Brad...Not with the way your cue flies up in the air! Pool school could fix that, and THEN you might be able to beat Efren! Nice story, and great video! Well done!

You are correct.
20 years ago I was taking lessons from Mark Wilson and my fundamentals were much more sound. Now the bad habits are creeping back into my game.
But now I play for enjoyment and I'm not as motivated to try to play perfect.
After watching the video, it probably wouldn't hurt to work on a few things though.
I wasn't going to mention that... or the little steering move on at least one of the shots.![]()
Brad...It also goes to show ya...you don't have to have perfect form to pocket balls...and RUN OUT! LOL:grin: That said, Mark is probably shuddering when he watches your video! Truthfully, even now, 20 years later, all that could be corrected in a few short hours of lessons (and a couple of weeks of disciplined practice)!

Man, this is a tough crowd.
I forwarded the video to several friends, some of whom have never seen me play pool. They were impressed.
So far AZ'ers have told me I have a "stutter stroke", my cue "flies up in the air", and I have a "steering move."
The sad thing is you are all right. I should stick to trying to impress nits.
