Howard is a long time (the longest) journeyman pro player. He has hung in there thru thick and thin. For a guy who wasn't a regular winner/contender on tour, he has managed to hang around longer than anyone else. Howard always played good, just not at the top level. If anything, his game got stronger with time and experience.
He is a genuinely nice guy, willing to take a moment with anyone and share his knowledge and good humor. He and Mike Lebron were a team thru the 80's, partnering up at all the tournaments. Both liked good food and they knew all the best restaurants, in every city where tourneys were held. Just ask him if you see him at Derby City. I'm sure he can tell you where to go in Louisville.
He has done something right, because he seems ageless. While all the rest of us have aged 30 years, he has aged about 10. This is not fair and I intend to complain. HOWARD!!!!
