Seems to be the norm on here, now. Weather it is a $50 jump cue or a $3k SW. People don't understand the whole satisfied customer thing.
One reason I don't deal overseas and recommend escrow for any sales over $750. Rather not take the chance of the wood moving.
Its not the norm (thank god). Its just that when someone buys a cue or case and is happy, they feel no need to hop on here and ask the community to moderate.
However it is too common, but I've got to say, all these guys that wait to discuss what happens if the deal goes sours until AFTER the sour happens are just (in a way) asking for it. This business of doing business ASSUMING the other party thinks like you and then trying to convince them to think like you after the sour, well, that's what threads like this are about.
In this case, the buyer says he asked for escrow, but then proceeded to do business without it and blames a pair of guys for recommending the seller for his decision. Did the buyer ever ask the seller what the process would be if he wasn't happy with what the seller sent him? How can that discussion not be part of the deal?
Sure the seller here is not doing business here the way you or I would or do. However, as a buyer about to send $2500 to a guy he doesn't know, for a cue he hasn't seen. Don't you feel that the buyer should be asking the seller BEFORE he pays the seller in a non-reversible fashion what they are going to do if:
1) the cue doesn't arrive?
2) he doesn't like the cue ?
Get the seller to guarantee you satisfaction, in writing, and then you have a claim when this happens. Assume he is making guarantees and you are risking coming here and asking the community to fix your situation.
Sorry, but shame on both these guys.
Thanks
Kevin
