Jeanette and Vivian ?

So Vivian won some cash or did they break even because nobody got 10 ahead? I gave up and went to bed with Jennifer ahead a few games.

They broke even. Jeanette was up 2 games after the first day and up 5 at the " 8 hour mark " on the second day. They evidentally agreed to play until Jeanette won or Vivian got to even so they quit when Vivian got 2 games ahead.

nice meeting you

Tanya, hope we can hook up and laugh soon; you seem funny

They just went even and have decided to......................................................................................................................................................................................................................talk..........................................more talk...........................................still talking............................:boring2:.......................sorry I nodded off there..................well I'll just report this.
Oh they decide to play on!!!
50 racks today so far and 62 last night, Jeanette currently up 2 overall (last night).

I have written Livestream for a solution to the vulgar chat problem and have not as yet received a reply. Unfortunately, AZBilliards does not control the video chat room, Livestream does, so we cannot limit who may or may not enter the chat area. Hopefuly, Livestream will give us a solution to this problem. What bewildered me was that some of the obscene chatters did not even show up in my list of visitors that I have the power to ban. Others got in and out so fast that I could not get to their names in time. It really is disgusting that there are those who would ruin the chat room for all of the decent folks who would use it responsibly.

We will continue to pursue a solution to the problem.
Jerry, I am not sure if at Livestream you can click on a name in the chat itself instead of the list and ban them which eliminates them hitting and running but on Ustream you can.

VV made one of the worst gambling decisions I have ever seen. I cannot believe that her backers, who would seem to know odds & money since they own casinos, would go for this.

watchez -- please read post #41 in this thread. If you think I am wrong, I'd appreciate your saying why. Thanks.

Regarding the stream troll(s) and restricting chat to AZB members. One of the names used by the troll (Reinhard Heidrich) seemed familiar and I think it was a name that was hammered by Mike at the WPBA Michagan City event. The vulgarity seemed similar also. So I don't know if restricting chat to AZB members would be acceptable to the WPBA for their free streams. It is quite likely the person(s) are on AZB or are currently banned on AZB and still on AZB with a new name.

Regarding Dababe..................uh my name ain't Tanya......It's Terry and I'm 6'3" 240+ lbs. and swing a loooong driver (or so I like to think).

Well I think your money figures are low as I have been told that there was quite a bit more bet on the match by both sides.

That being said, you are correct that they both had the opportunity to win the same amount of money at that point (6 games) but it was as if Vivian was staking Jeannette with her own money because Jeanette could win all the money (or even some of the money) while Vivian could only at best get even for her play. It reduced Jeanette's risk in the match to zero. That is a good place to be.

Here is some info on odds: The odds of throwing a 7 in craps is 6/36 or 16.7%. Would you bet me if I said that I will throw a 7, 1 in every 5 throws?
I just told you the real odds is 1 in 6. You would probably say yes. However, all I really have to do is throw it one time in 10 throws and I am even. Anything better than that, you lose. With the true odds being 1 in 6, over the long haul - you will lose.

Vivian escaped the trap she put herself in (or Jeannette put her in) this time.

I don't really understand how they matched up in the first place. Two ahead sets but limit the number of hours the ahead set could last and then it was simply over?? That is not really an ahead set.

vivian and jeanette should play a set of "mum pool." First one to blabber on and look for attention loses! I'm laying 10-1 that they both tank in the first rack...

I wouldn't view it that way. Jeanette essentially had Vivian's $14,700 in her pocket and offered to play for that amount again via a 6-ahead match, subject to a two-hour limit. It's as if you and I played last month and I won $100. Tonight we agree to play a 6-ahead set for $100. Yes, you could view it as if I'm playing tonight with "your" money, but it's really just another bet for another $100. Jeanette and Vivian both thought they could win some money in that final two-hour session. If Jeanette had won, it would have been a bigger win for the two days combined; if Vivian had won (which she did) it would have been a smaller loss or no loss at all for the two days. But it was a fair bet and Jeanette definitely lost money in those final two hours.

No, I would not take that bet. The probability of rolling at least one "7" in 5 rolls of two 6-sided dice is .598, or essentially 60%. I'd have a 40% chance of winning; you'd have a 60% chance.

I wouldn't even take the bet it if you said 4 rolls instead of 5; you'd have a 52% chance to win that bet.
...

It was to be pro-rated at the end of each 8-hour session if no one got to 10 ahead. So if one player was up by 2 after 8 hours of play, she was to win two tenths of the full session bet. That also is fair. And that's what happened the first day. In view of Jeanette's back problems and the fact that the match was being streamed, I think an 8-hour session is plenty long for everyone.

See comments in purple above.

Actually in this matchup both players were very reserved. I was a bit surprised at how quiet both players were frankly. Jeanette seemed to be all business.
Viv doesn't look for attention......she just likes to get the crowd behind her.

I also heard there was more money on it but who really knows, you hear that a lot in matches like this. I thought Jeanette was up 6 before the midnight hour and Vivian won the last game which put her at 5 and would have ended the session, just like the first day. At $2450 per game she would have put her at $17,150, not bad for two days. If they agreed to play until Jeanette got to 10 ahead or Vivian got even were they playing until Jeanette won 5 games or only 3 if they count the games the day before.

As for the limiting the number of hours they play, it looks like none of it was thought out at all. Why take a chance on just being able to break even in the first place. The real winner was the pool room for getting " big action " like this in there and drawing a big crowd.

I don't think that they dumped their backers.

i couldn't quote it because you quoted it different. it sounds like they both dumped their stake horses.......chop chop
That could be real dangerous. I do think there is a possibility that the outcome was pre-determined for whatever reason.
There was someone in Chat who alludded to the fact that such information was leaked.
Just remember reading it,
NOT saying there was any truth to it.Please don't bash me.
If we see the rematch on ESPN, I guess we will know.:)
