Anyone know who won the Jennette Lee match last night, I heard they were betting 20 dimes.

1 dime = 1K

The same guy she played the night before. I heard it was the "blow your dough show".

Where did they get the line on the Puerto Rican guy? If she couldn't beat a shortstop from Missouri - how did they think she could step up and beat some out of the country champion?

Wish I was there so some of the dough would have blown into my pockets.

Not everybody has the updated lines and is as sharp as you, my friend!

One of my pet peeves about WPBA is they announce that these are the best players in the world...

Jeanette must have believed it......

There are tons of men players that she wouldnt have to like it. And she wouldnt have to take a player out of the country...plenty right here in the USA.

Chris Bartrum would be one of them....IMO.

I was there till 6am when they kicked everyone out for cleaning. JL was not in any big action. So unless it happened at 7 or 8 when they reopened, it did not happen.

Yeah I hate it when they say that too. Back around '96-'98 I remember playing in a weekly handicapped tournament in New York and it was big, lots of money in the calcutta, full 64 player field every week with all the top NY players and all the decent locals in it. When the WPBA tour was in town quite a few of the ladies would play in it: Jeanette Lee, Jernnifer Chen, etc. the handicaps went from about 5 the lowest to +5 at the highest. The women pros were somewhere in the middle from 8 to +1 depending on the player. They all got drilled. Jennifer Chen ended up losing to a guy who used to sleep wherever he could find an empty chair, he was semi-homeless. Chen got the 7 or the 8 and lost soundly. The others didn't fair any better.

I made money on these matches betting on the side with people who regularly watched the ladies on tv and swore they were the"best players in the world"! They couldn't understand how they could lose to some local degenerates.

1000 i think. 100 is a C note.

Thanks.

Do people still say C note? When 100 was a C note, 1000 was a "grand". Now 1000 is a dime.

One more question - is the following true? 10 dimes = 10 large? Or has dimes replaced large?

Rich <-- not really planning on betting 10 dimes, just curious

10 large = 10 dimes and C notes are frequently Cecils.

Sh!t the bums I play with would think 10 dimes meant lets play for a dollar.

The worst part is that one or two might actually wanna play a race to 3 for it:mad:
