I,ve been watching the stream at Galveston and I will say this... Jeremy Jones is now one of my top favorite commentators. This man is incredible and seems to have that special gift of communicating at the highest level.

One of the best I've heard in a long, long time! He's a natural... knowledgeable, fluid in his delivery, and makes the matches more interesting with his commentary.

His knowledge of one pocket and his explanations of the match were the best I've seen and heard. He learned a lot from Jersey Red in Houston. He seems to be a classy guy.

It was like he had a crystal ball. Pointing out the potential for a kiss in the middle of the table was really neat.

oh I forgot, Efren was lucky.

The level of knowledge and 6th sense for knowing the plan of the shooters that JJ shows is nuts. I have never, and I do mean NEVER listened to a commentator that has that uncanny knack to pick out the correct shot on the mind of the player the way JJ does.

I agree. It is like he is in the mind of the players. He has been around these guys enough also to know their tendencies and is also experienced enough to be able to call the plays, as someone pointed out before, "As is he had a crystal ball".

I thought Hillbilly was a good commentator, J J is the best I've heard to date. Smooth, humble, knows when to shut up, and when to speak. All around even tempered demeanor. Doesn't add that big drama we hear Jim Wych do either. Just calls it like he sees it with great insight.

Way to go J J.

He hasn't just been around these guys, he IS one of these guys.

I agree with everyone, his participation in the streamcasts has been one of the highlights.

You guys said it better than me. This is exactly what I meant! I sure hope he does more commentary, and I pray that the matches will be available for purchase at the World classic web site.

JJ was impressive for numerous reasons, most of which have already been mentioned. However one thing that really impressed me, was how much respect he showed towards Mika. For those of you who are unaware, JJ and Mika have had some bad blood in the past. For JJ to set aside his person sentiments during the match really shows how professional he can be.

Cheers JJ. I hope to hear your commentary a lot more in the future.

Yeah, JJ gave a veritable seminar on one pocket during his commentating on the 1P finals and his commentary on the ten ball was equally incisive.

Jeremy also has a great voice for commentary. He speaks well, is articulate and never speaks down to his audience. He is also quite humble about his own credentials which are substantial.

Joey and Jeremy were excellent together. My only suggestion has to do with them having so much combined knowledge. They never run out of things to say about the match and to each other. I would gently suggest that they take a breather here and there and just let the players shoot a shot or two, especially when it's an obvious one. Little pauses between comments makes for easier listening for the audience, and further emphasizes what you do have to say.

A nice medium that I have found is to stop talking while the player is shooting. Let the shot (and it's execution) speak for itself, and then comment on the results.

I didn't catch that but I have heard JJ on a few Accustats straight pool matches and he is very good. Nice voice. Good knowledge of the game.
Nice demeanor.

Agreed, his commentary was great. Almost to good.

Because he was so good, he made JoeyA become a Mitch Laurence. JoeyA would suggest a shot, and Jeremy would say naaaaah, he's going to do "this"

Jeremy was correct on almost every shot. JoeyA became the score teller.

I thought all of the commentators (players) did a good job. I listened to Scot Frost a few months ago and thought he did a good job too.

I like to watch them play and player comment as well.

Most of the pro player commentators were great. We all can get info and tips on the Internet, books and DVD's, but having them tell you that's how to do it kind of cements it. Pool tips aside though...they were all good communicating the games. Johnnyt
